Just what I said, it will photo copy but will not print anything off the computer when i press PRINT

  • Alun Cox May 11, 2010

I take it that someone has asked for more info on your problem. I don't know what your original post was but "it will photo copy but will not print anything off the computer when i press PRINT" tells no-one anything except that you have a problem. Try starting with confirming that you have posted in the correct section by saying something like " I have a Lexmark X9350 printer my OS is Vistax64 and I have installed the drivers but.............etc etc. Also you could include info like "it used to work but it doesn't now since............." or "I can print a test page but it won't print from XXX prog" Or "It's brand new and I just can't get it going and it's a bag of sh*t! Have you seen the price of the carts!" From your post so far as it goes I can only gather that you've recently purchased it, connected it to your PC, tried a scan from the M/C itself to see if it worked and either haven't installed the drivers onto the PC or not installed them correctly or in the right sequence. You want help...... Your call. Change your attitude and you may get it!

Hi,

If the printer is connected via usb check your cables first, make sure they are fully connected on both ends. Next check to see if the computer is recognizing the printer. Turn the printer off for about 10-15 seconds, then power it up. A message should pop in the lower right corner near the clock saying that the printer was detected. If nothing shows up, try going to your printer and faxes menu on the computer and try to reinstall the printer or just the drives themselves. Sometimes drivers get corrupted and the easiest thing to do is to replace them. DO NOT DELETE ANY PRINTERS until you can print from the computer

How can I copy the standby screen to Word Document, then probably edit it to paint?

I am not sure what exactly you mean when you say "Standby screen", if you mean the screen saver, then go to >display settings, > Screen Saver > then click Preview and while the preview is running, press "Print Screen" key on the keyboard, the image will be copied onto the clipboard, now close the display settings and paste it into the word document/paint.
We call this as "Screen Shot", you can also do the same with the desktop, suppose when you want to capture the image of your desktop, just press "print screen" key on the keyboard and paste it into the paint or other photo editing software and save it. Anything that you can see on the desktop/display of your monitor while the computer is running can be captured in the same way.
Good luck.
Thanks for using FixYa.

How to print a regular document from Microsoft Word, Excel.

Instead of pressing the start button to print, you need to press the small ON/OFF button. The start button works to copy/scan. But to print, you will need to turn the printer on first. Once the printer is on, the computer should recognize it fine and allow you to print from your applications.
