*Check your warranty. You should call vendor for service.
*** The following is for information only.***
* I've had this problem a lot with my old fridge. Water line works but no ice.
* Check if the "Ice Full" leaver is in the down (no ice) position. Some ice makers will lock the leaver (a stiff wire) in the full position to manually shut off ice maker. Make sure it swings up and down when ice tray is empty.
* Sometimes when the tray is left full of ice for a week or more then the tube feeding water will freeze up. Defrosting the freezer on a regular basis will help. A quick fix is to pour warm water in the ice maker section (where the ice is formed). This will help melt the clogged pipe and also make some ice while your waiting. You may have to do this several times. But at least you have ice.
* This (freezing up) may also be caused by the freezer set too cold. The temperature dial should be in the middle. But turning it colder and colder over time will cause ice to build up and prevent foods from freezing properly (thus turning the dial down colder.) Once your maxed out on the dial. You will find the freezer gets warm and things get covered in frost crystals.
* Transfer food to another refrigerator and perform a complete defrost by leaving it unplugged and the door open (freezer section).
* Frequently check and dump water at bottom of fridge. Clean the dust on coils while down there.
* A fan blowing into the freezer section helps. (Do NOT use a heated fan as it will warp the plastic and overpressure the refrigerate.)
* Once defrosted (+4 hours). Power up the freezer and set the temperature dial to mid point and the freezer diverter to middle or normal setting. Don't put the food back in yet. Wait till the freezer gets down to normal freeze temp (about 0 to 10F)
* Move freezer back in place (if you moved it to access plug) then slowly put back the food. Try not to cram stuff in. Leave space for air to flow freely around items.
* Final, Call for service anyway and have them perform yearly service. Check your warranty.

are the "fingers" of the icemaker pointed toward you and slightly up? if not the icemaker is internally broken . is the red light to the right blinking twice and then a one second pause? if not the emmitter is broken. is the black hose coming from the ceiling blocked with ice ? if so the water vave is broken allowing water to seep in hose and freeze. hope this helps.

theharrisont, You state that...." ice maker stopped working after it flooded our kitchen floor." The water works because the water fountain dispenser uses a separate part of the Water Valve. The ice maker portion of the water valve is defected and the entire Water Valve Assembly will have to be replaced. Your problem is the dual Water Valve Assembly which is located on the rear bottom area of the refrigerator (follow the water inlet line from the wall to the refrigerator...the water inlet line connects to the Water Valve Assembly). The significant info which you provided was that the ice maker flooded the kitchen which indicates the Water Valve Assembly is defected. Failure to replace the Water Valve Assembly will result in the same problem of flooding at some later date. Replacing the dual Water Valve Assembly is just one step of several steps necessary to correct the problem. You will also have to temporarily remove the ice maker from the freezer (usually a couple of screws hold it to the wall and a quick disconnect electrical plug) and put it in the sink and run warm water over to remove any ice. Before you reinstall the ice maker you must check the Water Fill Tube that dumps the water into the ice maker. Because you said that the ice maker flooded the kitchen, then the Water Fill Tube is probably filled solid with ice which must be removed. A hair dryer is a quick way to achieve this. Blow hot air directly into the end of the Water Fill Tube which dumps the water into the ice maker. Note: Use a long screw driver to insert into the Water Fill Tube to break loose any ice and continue to use the hair dryer to help to remove any ice.
This should correct your problem

SOURCE: Ice Maker not working
Start by cleaning the condenser with a brush and a shop vac. Then get some nickleguard ice machine cleaner and wash the units plate's down going by package directions, then retry before calling a tech. It may start working but if it does not then it may save you some money by having the unit clean before the tech gets there. Ice machines are not a DIY repair. Sowwy
