Make sure you drain the machine first by setting a spin cycle manually and see if it releases the door after a few minutes. If that fails then switch off the machine and leave for 5 mins, door should release but you could end up with water on the floor. After this clean your filter and check you water pump, then try a short cycle without clothes.

Buy door latch kit from parts supplier. Comes with male and female parts of latch. Replace female part first and see if problem correct. Replace male if necessary. Don't worry if parts break off and fall inside while removing old pieces.
Kit is very inexpensive. If after replacing both parts your door still pops open check to make sure door is not sprung. To do this place a known straight edge across center of door from left to right and be sure there are no gaps between door panel and straight edge. If no gaps, replace hinges. They are likely bent.
