Same Problem-Model TH-42PZ77U. Light blinks 7 times but doesn't turn on. Unplugging and replugging it in doesn't help. Have a request in to Panasonic Concierge service. Had to send them my receipt. I hope they'll cover it—it's just a year and half old!
I contacted Panasonic and it seems that they will take care of the problem even though the TV is out of the 1 year warranty. They are aware that this is a manufacturing defect, apparently. I'll follow up later to let you know how it turns out.

hi im gary from tronmart! your problem is power related, a leaky part, a shorted part, an excessive voltage, or an insufficient voltage. this could also be the result of a cracked solder joint somewhere in the circuit board. most likely a some sort of an overload in the power circuits.
