My Magellan 3000T does not turn on, even when connected to the power source. The 'green' light does come on but nothing else and it does nothing when not connected. It worked fine the last time I used it, about 3 weeks ago.
I purchased the Magellan Roadmate 3000T at Costco toward end of 2006 and it worked for about a year. Recently, the recharge light on the unit stopped working and the unit does not recharge, despite my checking every connection. Power plug in unit came completely loose. Reset plug with epoxy and double checked electrical connections of plug.
Navigator now flashes "battery too low to operate". Stumped for answers. Website for Magellan not clear or friendly for repairs or service. Anyone have a similar problem with this unit? Works fine when it works, but now have concerns about long-term durability and reliability of this GPS navigator.I purchased the Magellan Roadmate 3000T at Costco toward end of 2006 and it worked for about a year. Same problem, when I plug in the unit, the power light indicates green, but the unit will not power up. Looking into solutions.Same problem, when I plug in the unit, the power light indicates green, but the unit will not power up. Looking into solutions.

I have the same problem. Purchased from Costco in Dec. 2006 and now out of the blue just does not work. I got the green light and when I push the power button the button turns blue but nothing else works. I called Magellan and was told that my warranty expired one month ago and I have to pay over $130 to get it fixed. This is rediculous.I have the same problem. I have the same problem. I worked a few weeks ago. Now the green light on the top right turns on but it does not power up. Could the battery need to be replaced. I have the same problem. i fix these and many other magellan
gps daily so when considering
my advice , please understand i do not google my solutions.
assuming your car charger is working (the little green light is on) and
your magellan still wont start up after holding the power button while
its
plugged in for up to ten seconds and still does not start..read below
this
is actually a very common problem with these magellan power
ports...they are poor quality from the factory and always and i mean
always fail..the new ports that you find on ebay are 100% better then
the factory port.
if your able to replace that power port
yourself, you can get one HERE, if not, ask the fellow that
sells them for help.
due to some dubious "experts" on fixya, im

not sure how long you have had this, but if the unit was completely turned off or battery completely dead, you have to hold the power button for about 15 seconds for the 3000t to start up...assuming the charge light at the top right is orange (that means its charging) no light means its not charging, green light means fully charged. if there is no power light on at the top right of unit, either the charger is bad or the port on the board is bad (which i do have) good luck and hope this helps. bill
I managed to solder my connector back in place. The ground trace broke away from the board so I had to install a jumper to ground. I put RTV on the connector to secure it after the repair.
Worked great for a few weeks until it was dropped again and lost power, something else has a broken connection.
