It is a technical problem more than likely but will require someone who can use a voltmeter. If the compressor is running then it is probably out of freon.

SOURCE: Fridge/Frezer stop working

Can you tell if the compressor (black soccer ball looking thing in the rear of the unit) is running? Is it really hot? Is the little fan running near it? If the compressor isn't running it won't cool. Also check that the coil in the freezer section isn't frozen solid blocking all air flow inside the unit. The other thing is that the defrost cycle may be "stuck" so it thinks it should be defrosting (therefore not running the compressor, etc.) Lots of things to check but that info will help decide which way to go so post what you find please.

SOURCE: liebherr frost free fridge/freezer

Try these solutions in these order:
1. Switch off the fridge and leave the door open overnight. Switch it back on in the morning.
Explanation: The sensor inside the fridge gets frozen and cannot control the temperature properly.
2. Switch off the fridge. Unplug it. At the back of the fridge (behind the unit, not inside) there is a large grid. Clean it with a hoover thoroughly. Open the fridge. Dry the back of the fridge if wet (inside the fridge). If frosted wait for it to defrost and then dry it. Plug in the fridge. Switch the fridge back on. This one worked for me.
Explanation: The dust in the grid deprives the fridge from cooling down and the unit can't control the temperature in the fridge section.
3. Switch off the fridge. -Unplug it. Empty it. Turn it upside down. Plug it in. Switch it on for 24 hours. Switch it off. Unplug, return to normal and switch on.
Explanation: This has to do with the pressure of the gas inside the compressor. I have not tried it but this advice as given to me by a qualified electrician when I commented the (in)famous F2 problem in Liebherr fridge/freezers.
Hope it helps. Regards. Albert

SOURCE: all of a sudden stopped getting cold in the fridge portion, freezer is fine

If you completely defrost the freezer and restart the unit and it doesn't get cold in the refrig portion it could be the internal fan that moves cold air from the freezer to the frig area if it does get cold after an hour or so then it is probably the defrost coil needs replacing. I am not familar with your exact model but this senario applies to many different units.

SOURCE: FRIGE AND FREEZER ARE WARM NOT WORKING

There are a few points need to be checked. 1) is the compressor still working? (any noise coming from it).2) if its working check if the evaporator is iced up, (a specific part of the internal lining is cold). 3) Check if the evaporator fan is working. (any noise when the door switch is pressed). If compressor is working, fan is running, and it;s iced up, most likely the timer is malfunctioned or defrost heater is not working. Easiest way is to switch the unit off for at least 8 hrs and switch it on again to try.

Normally if you remove the LHS salad drawer in the fridge you will see a sticker on the wall of the unit with the relevant information.

Hope this helps.

Should I repair or just replace my Liebherr fridge/freezer

Looks like this model is now out of date and I wouldn't trust your service guy. Any service agent will know whether the door switch, thermal sensor or control panel is faulty by simply testing them. I would not have to fit complete parts to isolate the faulty part.
Sounds like he doesn't know how to or wants the job of fixing it.
Try an independant repair service, local one man repair shops tend to give an excellent service.
If you want Currys do a good range of fridge freezers; https://www.currys.co.uk/search?q=Liebherr+fridge-freezer+model+CPEL4813&search-button=&lang=en_GB

To show just one retailer. There are many more out there. Try and buy locally if you can, you will get a better service I find.

I bought a Philips (Whirlpool) years ago and after 3 years, out of warranty, it packed up. The aluminium heat exchanger started leaking. Not worth repairing.
I now purchase Hoover. They has a 10 year parts warranty.
They are all 15 tears old now.
One gets what one pays for I suppose.

Freezer not freezing, or if it is lettuce etc in fridge freezes

Hi,
With fridge freezers, there is usually a solenoid at the back that controls where the refrigerent goes. It consists of a sealed valve and a solenoid coil. It is possible that this has become open circuit so cannot direct refrigerant to the freezer section.
Another alternative problem may be the thermistor in the freezer section. This sensor will tell the control board the temperature in the freezer section. If it gets it wrong, then the freezer will overcool or not cool at all. Often a manufaturer will standardise on a part, so swapping the fridge and freezer thermistors around can identify that this is the fault - then just buy another 1.
If these tests don't work, you're looking at a new control board. Second hand ones may be available.
Best of luck.

Our fridge and freezer seems to have turned off but the light is still on- we have a ten year old Liebherr KDVES4632, stainless steel-any tips, please? It is not blocked or obstructed at the back

Could very well be the compressor might have went bad. If nothing is running its the only thing it can be. Try turning both freezer/ refrig thermostats to their highest settings to see if compressor and evaporator fan is working.
