SOURCE: High Pitch Sound From Samsung TXN3071WHF 30" TV

I think its the flyback and its starting to leak. this is a component responsible for the high voltage of your tv set. always observe safety in dealing with this. Have it check by a qualified technician. Good luck!

SOURCE: Sound from monitor speakers distorted and high-pitched

Sounds like an inverter problem. If the power supply is internal replace the capacitors coming out of the voltage regulators. These are usually 1000mf and/or 470mf. If that doesn't do the trick look up the numbers on the 8-pin chips that drive the secondary transformers on the inverter to see if they are getting the right voltages.
Good Luck!

SOURCE: Samsung LNT3253H is making a high-pitched noise

I had the same issue. The tech that came out today removed the transformer on the power supply board, "resealed" it, and replaced it (re-soldered the same part back on) -- the transformer apparently vibrates because it was not properly sealed. BTW, mine was about the fifteenth that he has performed this repair on within the past couple of months -- all 32" and 26" Samsungs. Now, it appears to be absolutely silent.

please repeat your setting first- and then disconnect all speaker out.
connect your speaker one by one until you find the bad one and change it-you can also apply contact cleaner spray over volume control and move it many times-please do not forget yo unplug headphone jack first.

I am not getting sound from the marantz 5009 receiver to the tv. I am using hdmi cables from receiver to the tv

Huh? why? would you not want to get sound from the lousy TV speaker to the receiver and it speakers instead? That's how I have my Onkyo THX system set-up. My Samsung TV actually has decent speakers but even they are junk compared to a real speaker system. Even $500 worth of real speakers can sound better then the speakers on a $5000 TV. Do not do it.

Marantz SR-66 Shut down!

Sounds like the protection circuit is tripping. With power off, check for loose speaker connections. Also, look very closely for shorts in the speaker wires. Even a single loose strand can touch another connection and create a short, which shuts down the receiver.

I would take take the frequency splitter out of the circuit and see what happens. Check for acceptable impedances in the manual. The receiver may not like the load the splitter presents.

The receiver may have settings for bi-amping. Then you use one set of terminals on the back for treble, and a different set for bass.

Marantz SR 3001 won't turn on

Check for shorted speaker wires - if none found, disconnect speaker / select headphones and see if you hear music thru the headphones. If not - you may have burnt out power transistors, etc.

I'm having a problem with sound from a Marantz SR48 MKII. I have a pair of Klipsch monitors connected to the "system 1" outputs on the Marantz and a Polk PSW100 connected to the "system...

I'd say you DO need to evaluate how the PSW is attached. I can't find the specific manual for it but the prescribed way for most subs that accept speaker level inputs (and HAVE speaker level output terminals) is run one pair of speaker outputs from the receiver to the sub and daisy-chain the Klipsh speakers from the sub.

Do have an idiots guide as to how to wire up the SR-4200 to a TV

I will interperate this as:
"So you want to play sound through your Marantz SR-4200?"

You need to clarify what sort of system setup you have, however i will put down a few ways to wire this up to your TV.

If you have a Set-top-box that gets the TV Channels, that is where the sound comes from. If you have a TV that plugs straight into the wall, you will have to get the sound from the TV. Grab a RCA Stereo cable - (White and Red heads, if you don't know what they look like, Google it).

If you are unclear about this, i have tried to make a diagram down the bottom to explain how this is to work. What you will do is Take the sound from the Set-Top-Box or TV and reroute it into your fantastic Marantz SR-4200.

1. Plug Red Plug into the the Red Slot, and White into the White on the back of your set-top-box or TV Out (if you get it around the wrong way, the speakers will be reversed.)

2. Plug the other end of the cable into the back of your Marantz SR-4200 in the TAPE input or VHS input as they are analog signal inputs. Turn on Marantz SR-4200 and turn it onto Tape or Vhs (depending on where you plugged it in).

[Set-Top-Box or TV out] >-------> into >------> [Marantz SR-4200]

If you still don't get it, then try searching You-Tube for a guide "Plug Tv into Stereo". I myself couldn't turn up anything useful

Marantz SR-940

Just finish repairing Marantz SR 940 with no sound output. Problem was a clamped speakers relay located behind the speakers lugs (red and black post connectors). To reach the relays you must remove the little circuit board behind those colored connectors et unsolder the posts. There is 2 relays, one for A set and one for B set of speakers. Very EASY when you know the solution!!

Having trouble setting up sound system

I can see by the setup of this device, it can be confusing. So let's make sure you are setting the device to the correct "A" speaker outputs. These would all be on the rear panel, on the right side of the receiver. Is this correctly setup?
