Fault at its main digital board. Short circuited component/s at it. Contact any service technician; or the authorized service center. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts.

In most cases, the main board might have to be replaced. If so, a software [firmware] update too might be necessary.

SOURCE: HDTV 52 INCH RCA

It could be a failing tac switch or the micro. The only way to tell is signal trace the switch circuit with a 20mhz scope.. Need a shop for that if you don't have the equipment and it's not terribly expensive...
Footnote: either failure can and usually will get worse over time and may infect other function, vol,ch, power and so on... Find a reputable shop and take it in.. If you have any problem location one let me know..

My element electronics tv says no signal

Two things to try:

1. Connect a DVD or something else to one of the rear audio/video inputs to see if set works that way.

2. Check to make sure set in menu is set to tuner and cable---if the tuner in the set is bad a cable box with audio/video outs on the back can be hooked to one of the rear audio/video inputs and will bypass the tv tuner--you will stay that input to watch TV and change channels with the box----

The cost of renting a box is minor compared to having to replace the tuner in the set.

Remote came w/coverter, no codes for Panasonic TV/DVD/VCR combo

Since you say the remote turns the box on and off properly, the control is probably working correctly. If you aren't seeing anything on the screen, you may not have the TV on the right channel (if you've connected it with an RF cable to the TV's antenna input jack). If you've connected the box using its video and audio outputs, you may not have selected the TV's video input.

As far as setting up the remote to work the converter box, that isn't necessary. If the remote is truly not working the box properly, and you have tried new batteries in the remote, you may have a bad remote or converter box and should take it back to the seller.

If the problem is setting up the boxes remote to work your TV, you may be out of luck. If you need to enter a brand code and your TV isn't listed, there is usually a code search function. The problem with universal remotes in general is that often they only give you control of a TV's basic functions but not advanced menu controls. The converter box remote may not be able to do more than just turn your TV on and off and control its volume. You may need to keep the original TV remote handy if you want to do things like adjust color levels, control closed captioning, or other functions like that.

Tv problems

Have you tried taking the batteries out of the remote? Sometimes the buttons can stick.

Green box keeps popping up in upper right corner

You should be watching your dvd's on an input and not on tv analog 3. Every time the tv "senses" a signal change in the audio that screen will pop up. Connect the DVD player to the tv by using either the red, white and yellow (composite) connections or using the green, blue, red, white and red (component). Once you are on an actual input that box will stop popping up.
