You probably need to loosen the nut that attaches the cable to the brake arm, pull it tighter and then retighten. The cable may also need to be lubricated inside the housing with spray lube. Other than that, without being there it's hard to help further. Check with a bike co-op or bike shop for more assistance.

Yes, You will need specialized tools and knowledge of the right procedure, both for the crank arms and bearings. Without knowing why you want to do that I would advise caution, and still suggest you get in-person help.

SOURCE: brake adjustment promax aluminum linear pull

assuming the wheel is centered in the frame and all is working well, the pressure springs need to be adjusted. using the pressure screws (small screw sticking out of thr side of the brake) you can adjust the return pressure of each side. Loosen the screw on the side that is moving a quarter turn, tighten the screw on the side that does not move. squeeze the brake lever, check operation, continue until the brakes work equally.

2001 chevy malibu, throttle cable is loose, gas pedal is loose, how do i tighten them?

There doesn't appear to be an adjustment on either end of the cable as the cable sleeve ends look like they just push into their locating seats and click into place - but I can't see why it wouldn't be possible to take the throttle body end of the cable and make some kind of modification. I'll give you some ideas on how to do it and where to start looking (if not you'll need to buy a complete new throttle cable) -

How do I ADJUST the brakes on my rollator walking frame CARE -qUIP

I would thing that it is much like a bike brake, there should be two options, first and easiest is at the hand brake there should be a screw thread with a nut on it, undo this nut a small amount and unscrew the threaded section the amount will depend on how loose the brake is start with a couple of turns try the brake and do more as needed, until your brakes are working properly again, if that is not an option (there is not threaded bar or the bar is full unscrewed) then you will need to follow the brake cable to the other end, there should be a screw holder that holds the internal metal cable loosen the screw / nut and with a pair of pliers pull the metal cable tight and tighten the screw / nut again, test brakes and adjust as needed.

this (if it is still hear when you look) is a great video guide to adjusting bike brakes, the principle is just the same., if the link is no longer active search youtube for "How to adjust bike brakes bike maintenance"

Adjust front brakes bike

At the brake handle end of the cable, on the handle bars, ther may be an adjuster that thread into the brake handle from the end of the black portion of the cable. Thread it all the way in and then turn it 2 full turn back out.
Break the nut loose that the brake cable wire goes through.
Inspect that you do in fact have usable brake pad material on the pads.
Squeeze the caliper by lifting the lever towards the black part of the cablewhile pulling on the cable to keep it tight and tighten nut.

How are the front brake on a rebel adjusted

There should be a knurled barrel adjuster on the brake lever. Unscrew it some and your brakes should "tighten." When you have 'em where you want 'em, screw the lock ring (the big round thing on that barrel adjuster) back down against the brake lever, locking it in position.

If you can't get it tightened enough that way, you'll need to take slack out of the cable at the brake itself. Loosen the nut that holds the end of the cable in place and pull the cable tight, then tighten the nut back up. You can then fine tune using the barrel adjuster on the brake lever.

Brake assembly help!!!!!!!!!

1. the other end of the brake cable with the stopper, insert to the handle brakes.there is a guided slot for it.
2.go to the brake assembly.loosen the nut and find the small hole at the shaft of the flat head bolt.insert the cable.
3. adjust the brake.pull the cable until it is in the best tension, slowly rotate the brake nut to keep the cable in place.
4. try to grip the brakes and try pushing the bike while testing the tires if it skid.try to ride it to so that your weight will be calculated with the brakes.
5. adjust the brakes by repeating the above instruction until desired brake adjustment is achieved.
