I purchased a 2011 Nissan Altima with a viper remote start. The remote show any amber light and chirps when pushed however they do not start the car. I replaced all of the batteries in the remotes. Still no luck. The car is a keyless/ push button start, so all of the reprogramming information I've found is not an option for me. (Because I can't put a key in the ignition and turn it on one or two clicks.)How to i get the remote start too work?

Perhaps you need to depress the button for an extended period if time, a process that eliminates accidental starts with a quick button depression.

SOURCE: 1998 nissan altima gxe -ignition problem

Hi what is happening is that your turn off your car and left the wheels turned to one side and specially if your car is parke in a hill what you have to do is to force the steering wheel to the same direction of your wheels this will free up the ignition switch it is going to be hard let me tell you but it will work and this is why your shift don't work once you have the ignition switch free then your shift will work again

SOURCE: programming keyless remote

2003-04 Mazda 6 REMOTE PROGRAMMING

Step 1: Open drivers door and leave open.

Step 2: Lock and unlock the driver’s door using the power door lock switch on the door.

Step 3: Insert key into the ignition.

Step 4: Turn key to on position and return to off position. (IMPORTANT - use ON position NOT ACC position). Do this 3 times within 10 seconds. Leave key in the ignition.

Step 5: Open and close the driver’s door 3 times. (Door should be left open after this step).

Step 6: ECU should respond by locking and unlocking the doors.

Step 7: Press any button on remote #1 twice. ECU responds by locking and unlocking the car doors.

Step 8: Press any button on remote #2 (etc.) twice. Each time the ECU will respond by locking & unlocking the doors.

Step 9: Remove the key from the ignition and the ECU will respond a final time with a series of door locks and unlocks. You're done!

Good Luck.

SOURCE: Where can you purchase battery for keyless entry for 2007 Nissan

The best place to purchase a replacement battery is AutoZone. They have a tester there to make sure everything is working. It should be on the help counter.

Viper remote start system just installed. When I use the remote to lock the car--there is no longer a chirp noise that confirms I hit the lock key. Thanks, Mary

I don't know which remote starter you have, but I have a Viper 5101. To fix this problem, I started the ignition, then turned it off, leaving the key in the ignition. I pushed the Valet button (it has a blinking blue light, mine is near my rear view mirror) and held it. Then, I pushed it 3 times, then held it down a 4th time. Then, I pressed the lock button once. I pushed the Valet button again to take it out of programming mode, and it worked! I got this sequence of steps from the installation manual online: http://www.scribd.com/doc/45065156/Installation-Viper-5101 Hope that helps!
