Sony Cybershot DSC-W35 Camera doesn't detect the USB cable

I have a Sony Cybershot DSC-W35 and the problem I have is that the camera doesn't detect the USB cable, so I cannot download the photos with the cable.

You dont need the disc to download to computer.Take the card from the camera and put it into the card reader on your computer if one is fitted, if not you need one that goes into a USB slot When the card is inserted into the reader a box will open on the screen with several options as to view images or download them.

I would also download Picasa 3 which puts your photos in date order and also has photo editing. This is a free download and is part of google.

Sony Cybershot W35 viewing photos on computer problem
Try connecting to a friend`s PC.

If the camera connects, there is a USB driver problem on your PC. If not...

Your camera has a blown fuse on it`s serial communications line. Contact your nearest Sony dealer and take the camera for repair.

If they only have to replace the fuse it should be quite inexpensive, if not and they need to replace the main board you should first determine the value of your camera and then look at the cost of a new model.
