Hello,
It is likely on the video board.

At today's price point, it is often less expensive to replace with a more modern television that can be hung on the wall, and does not take up so much valuable floor space.

Good luck with your repair.

Testimonial: "The TV is old, but it is built in to a custom cabinet system in our family room. It would be a pain to find and install a flat screen in its place. Also, we are selling our home and I intended to leave it with the home. I figured I would try and fix it. Thanks"

Completely understand. I also had to get rid of mine before placing home on the market. That thing was gigantic! In the end, we gained a lot of room, and it just looked better. However, I certainly understand the investment choice. Best regards,

I'm a little confused, are you talking about an old bubble tube TV?

SOURCE: HC-P4752W - IC Replacement vs Convergence Module.

The colors weren't lining up correctly on my HC-P4752W which is only about 30 months old. I did a little bit of research and got ahold of the people at http://servicemanuals.vstore.ca/ They recommended replacing the IC's as well as the IC resistors. I purchased the replacement parts from their site and made the repairs myself. I should mention that I didn't have any previous soldering experience. The repair was easy and a complete success. You may find replacement parts elsewhere for slightly cheaper but what you won't find is the prompt and detailed customer service that they provide. They gave me there # and said to call if I had any questions before or during repair. I took advantage of their services and got answers every time I called.

You have to pull the chasis completly out the set. Make sure you know where all the wires go that u have to unplug. Also u may need to change open resistors near the convergence amplifiers.

Picture is showing double visions

Hi.

That means that the convergence ICs must be replaced.

The convergence ICs are two power amp chips located in convergence board. They must be de-soldered and replaced with new ones. Resistors in convergence board must also be tested and eventually replaced.

The job is about $250/$300 and must be done by a technician.

To get a quote on repair, call Sony at the number listed on the owner manual.

Convergence

I'm assume you are referring to a non adjustable convergence option. this will occur when you have a damaged convergence chip set that is located on either the PC board or the convergence board. The location of the affected chip will vary from model to model but, in most units, this can be fixed by replacing the convergence board or chip.

Colors are skewed on Pioneer Pro-520HD

you can replace your the convergence chips on the convergence board. The board is to identify because it has a large heat sink. The convergence chips normally starts with STK... After you find the chip, you can buy online (ebay has a lot of listing) and costs around $10. If you know how to solder, it is very easy to do. I just replace the convergence chips on myPRO-610HD and it works perfectly.

60PP9352 60 in. Rear - Blue convergence issue

Replacing only the ICs MAY solve the problem, however, many people have also had blown resistors requiring replacement. Also the convergence board should be checked for cracked solder. If you replace the ICs and the resistors are shot, the ICs may blow again almost immediately, meaning you may have to do the repair twice.
You do not have to replace any transistors to fix this convergence failure.

Convergence chips

The convergence IC or in a sense ,amplifiers and the resistor are output resistors... if they are burning up the current going through them is spiking too high... TO me this is an indication that the "convegence yokes" are shorted. These are coils around the tubes that control convergence. I would suspect maybe that these are shorted to ground somehow. This is my first guess for this problem

Right side convergence

A convergence IC has burned out. If I remember correctly, those Pioneer sets have one huge convergence IC, but that IC only has 5 channels in it so they use another smaller dual STK IC and one half of it is used for the 6th channel and the other half is the vertical output. Look on the convergence board, find the blue convergence jack, identify the blue horizontal channel, follow the traces and replace the IC handling the blue horizontal channel.
