I have a Canon DC310 Camcorder and it will not finalize. I go to the menu--> Disc Operations--> Finalize and that's as far as I can go. I try moving the joy stick every which way but nothing happens. What is wrong?

To finalize the disk:
Select MENU --> then select: DISC OPERATIONS
then select: FINALIZE
then select: YES ... to go back to MENU
During the disk finalization, a progress bar is displayed. Close the MENU only AFTER the screen display returns to the DISC OPERATIONS menu
When you are in Video Playback mode do as follows:
1.) Press Menu
2.) Go to Disc Operations
3.) Scroll to Finalize and then click yes.
Avoid moving the camera and do not do this if outside in excessive heat. Hope that helps :)
depends what type of disc-rw's won't highlight sometimes because they don't always need to be finalized to play-insert the disc if r in another brand and see if you can finalize-go to bb or circuit and ask them if you can stick it in display and see if it comes up-if never proably was done already-also try different dvd players
