Meade will not sell you a corrector plate. The scope must be returned to Meade. Call their customer service line here-
http://www.meade.com/support/index.html

The shipping will be very expensive along with the repair. Possibly taking it to a local Meade dealer may be more economical??

SOURCE: make the corrector plate meade 203mm

Meade will NOT sell you a corrector plate. They will want the scope back. The corrector plate must be matched optically with the mirror. It is VERY expensive to make this repair, and may not be economical to do. Call Meade:

SOURCE: 76AZ-AD (180 x 76mm) Telescope: I recently purchased a Meade telescope but can not...

Does it have a name on the scope? If it has a MIRROR in the bottom it is a REFLECTOR.

If it has a lens on the front it is a REFRACTOR. Look on Meade's manual web site under the header REFRACTOR or REFLECTOR for one similar to your telescope.

SOURCE: need corrector plate retaining ring gasket

These parts are only available from Meade, or if you find an old scope on astromart.com that is being torn apart and sold as parts. You might find a replacement gasket at a well stocked hardware store--- maybe?

Sorry that is an off brand imported telescope. Never heard of that brand.

However, there are basically 3 styles of telescopes, a REFRACTOR, a REFLECTOR(that has mirrors), and an SCT with both a front corrector plate and a mirror.

You probably have either a refractor or a reflector. Meade maintains a web site with all of their manuals- lokk under the 4.5 inch Reflector heading, or the Refractor heading for one that is similar to your scope. They all assemble and are used in the same way.

This is mold growing on the inside of the glass plate-- you will either need to send it back to Meade for cleaning or clean it yourself.
