If you are like me who used to have the satalite DVR you miss the skip forward function that some of the remotes have. With comcast or Xfinity remotes you can program them. Mine says Xfinity on the bottom and since I have no others to compare it to I cant say this will work on all remotes. Watch for the blinks as they will signify that everything is OK. If they dont give it a minute or two and then start over again pressing the buttons fully down. Since most of the button funtions are already taken, and at least on my NEW TV it didnt come with Picture In Picture funtion so these buttons are not being used by me. So lets use that last PIP minus button for this example. When you are done you can still reassign the Aux button back to say a DVD player or something, but only if it doesnt still work. This sequence just programs the remote PiP button. Press the Aux button one time Press and hold the Setup button until the Aux blinks 2 times after it does enter these numbers 01376, now the remote should blink 2 times again. press and hold Setup again until 2 blinks now press 994 and press the Aux button Press the Setup one time and now enter the numbers 00173 Press the Cable button Press the PIP Channel Minus at the bottom of the comcast remote and you will see the lights blink again at the top of the remote to signify 2 blinks that it is done.
You will not be able to get closed captioning by pressing the cc button on your television remote control. You must turn off the motorola cable box. Yes I did say turn off the motorola cable box. You should be standing in front of the cable box when you turn it off because as soon as it is turned off you must press the menu button on the cable box (not on the remote but on the cable box) right away. If you press menu soon enough after turning it off you will get a hidden menu. You will be able to scroll down to Closed Captioning and choose enable with the left or right arrow. Then just turn the cable box back on and you should have captions.
