How to Turn Off Screen Overlay on Android:
1) Open your Android’s Settings. It’s the gear ( ) icon typically found in the app drawer.
This method is helpful when you see an error message that says “Screen overlay detected. To change this permission setting, you first have to turn off the screen overlay from Settings > Apps.”
The error sometimes occurs when you update an app that supports screen overlays.
2) Scroll down and tap Apps. This may be called Applications on some devices.
3) Tap ?. It’s at the top-right corner of the app list.
4) Tap Configure Apps.
If you don’t see this option, look for a gear icon ( ) or Application Manager.
If you tapped Application Manager, tap More at the top-right corner of the screen, then proceed to the next step.
5) Tap Draw over other apps. This may be called Can appear on top on some devices. If you don’t see either of these options, it’s probably buried in a sub-menu. Tap the menus until you find it.
6) Tap the app that gave you the error message. Common apps that have screen overlays are Messenger, WhatsApp, Clean Master, Drupe, screen recorders, and Lux.
7) Slide the “Permit drawing over other apps” switch to the (Off) position. Screen overlays are now disabled for this app. You can now return to the app in which you saw the error message to try again.....
1. Open your Settings.
2. Tap Apps.
3. Tap this icon ?
4. Tap Configure Apps.
5. Tap Draw over other apps.
6. Tap the app you were using.
7. Slide the switch to the Off position.
