SOURCE: Clean very greasy Belling oven

this happened to me a couple times. Once it has cooled down clean it up with any of the following:
1: Wet Sponge (loose stuff)
2. Steel Wool (stuff that is hard to scrape off)
3. Oven Cleaner Spray (Yes, they actually sell this at the store)

I think i've actually used some Lycosl wipes before... but not too much becuase I didn't want my food tasting like it.

Once you scrape/wipe up all the stuff at the bottom you should be fine.

SOURCE: Cleaning grates of GE profile gas stove

Sounds crazy, but this works. Soak the grates in warm to hot water with 2 dryer sheets (Bounce), let them soak for an hour or two. Unbeliveable how they came clean. I did have to use a Scotch Brite pad on the two that I use most, but it sure beats replacing them.

SOURCE: gas stove /electric starter won't click to start cleaned stove

Try cleaning the starter with rubbing alcohol and toothbrush. There might be soap or boiled over residue on the starter. If that doesn't work, try using fine 150 grit sandpaper and gentle clean the starter with it. This problems drove me nuts too. Good luck!

The igniter will glow red even when it does not get hot enough to open the gas valve. Replacing the igniter should take care of the problem.

I've got a Belling LPG gas oven and it lights ok but then pops and blows itself out. I've replaced the thermocouple and it's made no difference. Any suggestions ?

Taking a guess, I would expect gas is leaking from somewhere and bypassing the burner and when it has built enough to reach the flame it will pop.
LPG is heavier than air...

I suggest you remove the burner and ensure everything is clean including inside the mixing chamber is free of fluff and dust and ensure the gas jet and gas supply to the jet housing is tight and the connection to the pilot light is similarly tight.

Cast iron grey grates are hard to clean

Don't use oven cleaner! It isn't recommended by GE. Their book explicitly says to put the grates in a plastic garbage bag and pour a some ammonia into the bag. Tie the bag tightly so all the gas stays inside. Put in a garage in case it leaks because it can smell bad. Wait 24 hours and the stains will come off with a hose and some light rubbing. I didn't believe it at first but it works great! My wife loves our 'like new' oven.

Badly stained gray burner grates for stove

Common problem, very frustrating...Use the self clean feature of your oven if available or you can place all of the grates and pieces into a black trash bag, spray them with oven cleaner and let the closed bag sit in the sun for a while, rinse and spot clean. You can get the tough stuff by "gently" using a steel wool pad - be careful, you could scratch the surface.
