SOURCE: Clean very greasy Belling oven
this happened to me a couple times. Once it has cooled down clean it up with any of the following:
1: Wet Sponge (loose stuff)
2. Steel Wool (stuff that is hard to scrape off)
3. Oven Cleaner Spray (Yes, they actually sell this at the store)
I think i've actually used some Lycosl wipes before... but not too much becuase I didn't want my food tasting like it.
Once you scrape/wipe up all the stuff at the bottom you should be fine.

Sounds crazy, but this works. Soak the grates in warm to hot water with 2 dryer sheets (Bounce), let them soak for an hour or two. Unbeliveable how they came clean. I did have to use a Scotch Brite pad on the two that I use most, but it sure beats replacing them.

The igniter will glow red even when it does not get hot enough to open the gas valve. Replacing the igniter should take care of the problem.
