Viewsonic vfd823-50 will not power on. Nothing appears to be wrong with the adaptor

Go to a electronic store and bring your adaptor and ask them if they have that kind of adaptor...

You said laptop is working fine if just using the battery,that means that there is nothing wrong with the battery itself. Can yu please try to connect the laptop directly to the power outlet without using the battery just for the mean time,remove the battery and connect the AC adapter directly to the power outlet then power on the laptop,if nothing happens,that means that there is something wrong with the AC adapter itself or the power port on the laptop.

Are you getting the 12vdc from the power supply? Fuse on the inverter board good?

It will be hard to tget the power supply module sch because it is made by OEM not by Viewsonic.

• If possible, make sure there is power coming from the power adaptor with a voltmeter. If nothing shows, the adaptor needs replacing or repairing.
  
• Try removing the battery and running on the power adaptor alone. If this works the battery is dead. You can buy a new battery or just run it on the adaptor.
  

Okay here's the fix.
Remove batteries. Re-install them wrong side in! Don't panic.
Reverse the direction of both the battery cells and install. Press "Power" button a couple of times and a few other buttons a few times. Then remove batteries and re-install the right side in.
Voila.

There is a possibility that your plug on the adapter is the wrong polarity. See if the polarity is marked on your mixer by the power adapter jack.

The vga cable is a DB15, 3 ranks with male connector at each end,
(you can use a vga extention and add a little male to male adaptor at the female end to get finaly 2 males connectors)
And, the power cord is in fact an ac/dc adaptor, the replacement part is: 12b27-0428 (12v 5A 60w 4 pins) ...
just type de number 12b27-0428 on internet and you're on ...

Actually the common problem of viewsonic LCD monitor is bad electrolytic capacitor at primary, secondary & inverter area, if your lcd using power adaptor test the voltage out, use analog or digital tester range 50v dc, if the voltage out is accurate dont be sure to your adaptor working good, open it and find bad electrolytic capacitor inside. That is common problem of viewsonic LCD monitor could cause of display flashing then back to black after few seconds. Suspect inverter area lastly mainboard.

just check the power cable from the monitor is connected correctly and plug from cpu to monitor is connected properly be sure is there an loose contact... if it doesnt works means then give reset button in monitor... check the power and frequency control properties in bios .... may be properties is user define or is in maximum saving mode just change it to mininmum saving mode ...it will work...
