My Sony Walkman NW-S203F battery shows fully charged when plugged into computer, but when removed, the display switches off and won't turn on. The computer can access all the data/music files on the device though.

lol i had the same problem just press the reset button at the bottom on the walkman player.

That's normal. While it's charging the only thing it does it charge.

You need to install Sonic Stage software in computer that can be downloaded from Sony Support site as per OS running in PC then connect walkman with computer and transfer mp3 files in it, Sonic Stage will create that database files automatically to solve the issue. Download related info as well.
