If the display says out of range, it means it can't connect to the base station. Could be because it is to far away, or it is switched of, disconnected from the mains or just defect.

Either the receiver is bad or the transmitter is bad. OR there is something causing interference in the area. There is a big issue with high intensity grow lights wiping out radio transmission.

I would try changing the batteries, they don't last forever and are usually the problem

It needs to be re-registered to the base, if I knew which Binatone phone you had I could have advised. Either comment to supply the model name or call 0845 345 9677 (Binatone Helpline).

Had this problem myself today, emailed binatone and they sent me this - and it worked!

You need to press and hold handset locator button on base unit till starts bleeping, on handset press menu, up arrow to register, press ok, press 1 for base unit, then 0000 for pin code, press ok, it will say wait, press ok again
