RECURRING PROBLEM OF WACOM TABLET GETING STOPPED

I have Intuos WACOM TABLET model : XD-1212-U and sofware driver ver.4.78-6 installed on both Windows XP as well as on Windows Server 2003. This is a USB based tablet.

The wacaom tablet stops working without any message and computer needs to be restarted again for its working. I am facing this problem since last 1 year.

However, i also have an older version of the tablet (GD-1212-R driver ver. 4.52) which works on COM port which works very well without any problem.

Can anybody help me out.

bamboo tablet, vista 32 bit inspiron 1501 laptop, 2 gig memory, etc..

stops with no warning, must be restarted. Unplug and replug makes it functional, but in the same manner as if you never installed a driver. No functions other than pointer works.

    Ideas?

Unplug the tablet and then plug it back in. This sorts it for me.

How can i install intuos gd 0608-u on pc running windows8.0?

The first thing you have to do is upgrade your Windows from version 8.0 to 8.1. Version 8.0 just has too many bugs plus it shouldn't automatically update anymore Check this MS page out.

Install the latest Windows 8 1 Update Windows Help

Here are the bare bones manual installation steps from the page:
Install the update manually

Make sure your PC is plugged in and connected to the Internet using a non-metered connection. Don't disconnect, unplug, or turn off your PC while the update is being installed.

Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, tap
Settings, and then tap Change PC settings.
(If you're using a mouse, point to the lower-right
corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer up,
click Settings, and then click Change PC
settings.)

Tap or click Update and recovery, and then tap or click
Windows Update.

Tap or click Check now.

If updates are found, tap or click View details.

In the list of updates, select the update containing
KB 2919355, and then tap or click Install.

If you're prompted for an administrator password or
confirmation, enter the password or provide
confirmation.

After the installation is complete, restart your PC and
sign in.

Note: If you don't see KB 2919355 in the list of available updates, you might be missing one or more required updates. Follow the previous steps to check for updates, install all important updates, particularly KB 2919442, restart your PC, and then check for KB 2919355 again.

Once you successfully update to Windows 8.1 we can tackle your Wacom products. There have been plenty of documented problems getting the Wacom Intuos Drivers working in Windows 8.x. Just google on "Wacom Intuos Driver Windows 8.1"

First get the latest Intuos driver version from the Wacom website.

Intuos 4 pen clicking while hovering

You may have an issue with the drivers. If you're using the drivers on the CD, try updating to the latest drivers:

If you're using the latest drivers and the issue persists, try rolling back your drivers to the previous release:

Wacom Intuos3 stopped working when I upgraded to Leopard

I did solve it myself. Having downloaded the new drivers off the Wacom website, I hadn't realised they were still sitting on my desktop waiting to be installed. Once I found the folder and opened and installed it everything worked fine!
