Question about JVC Car Audio & Video

1 Answer

I have a 98 Toyota Corolla with a jvc kd-r200 and a 2007 Camry with a jvc kd-r980bts..I want to switch the two stereos, the kd-r200 to Camry and kd-r980bts to Corolla for now because the Corolla has a sub and Camry doesn't..my question is could I just swap the stereos and put them in the dash and not have to by special harnesses since there the same or almost the same size ..

its simple. hold the "sel" button until the menu comes up and it will say hours use the volume button to change it. then use the next button to go to the minutes. then you can also change other settings under this menu. hit the "sel" button again to go back.

which fuse did you check. verify the wiring to the radio than comes from the light switch to the radio. if all this worked before , then it has to be work that you have done. the only link from the light switch to the radio is for inst panel dimming. first disconnect that wire and ck fuse for tail lights. make sure there is power on both sides of the fuse, use a test light.

Need info on wire color coding for jvc car cd player: JVC KD-G140

Try going to the crutchfield website and look for help installing stereo. they can get you vehicle specific wiring codes for free. Also, almost everey stereo has common color codes for wiring. red- switched batt. +, yellow-constant batt. +, black= ground, blue- power anrenna, etc.

Jvc kd-sx770 car stereo--radio works, but cd player doesn't

Hello beeswing70,

The player is recognizing that a CD has been inserted but is not able to read it.

Sometimes the lens assembly becomes contaminated and obscures the laser. I'd try using a commercial "lens cleaning CD" two or three times and then try a CD again. These lens cleaning CD's are widely available. If cleaning does not help, the player need professional service.

Hope this helps.

Go to your local wal-mart or radio shack and ask for a radio wiring harness adapater, it connects directly to your car wiring and there i\will be no need to cut your car wires. Best of all the harness cost less than $10.

if you go to your local audio store they should sell a kit to wire in your radio, so you dont have to cut any wire on your car it will just plug right in to the factory wiring
