Question about iLO Televison & Video

My ILO tv wudnt come on aftr elec was off dring storm.Was plugd to a surge protectr.A tv tech taught me simple solution a few yrs ago but I cant recall. Help plz. I want my tv on again. Thank you.

Hi there!

Get somebody to check the circuitry of the tv please start with power supply section may be a fuse as blown if blown replace it or a component has blown due to AC .

I have one of the first kenmore oasis and I get the F1 and off balance error all the time I called the recall number line is 1 (800) 659 7026 they said that they are doing a free upgrade to replace the control board the only problem is the board is on a back order and it may take a week to get the part in.

Power surge from storm. Power light turns on for 2-3 seconds and goes off. Previously had a power supply replaced 3 yrs ago. tv is approx 12-15 yrs old.

MOST OF THESE SETS HAVE A SELF DIAGNOSTIC:

UNPLUG TV AND THEN PLUG BACK IN---TURN ON---GREEN POWER LIGHT COMES ONFOR A MOMENT AND GOES OFF.

PRESS AND HOLD "device" and "menu"buttons on front of tv for at least 5 seconds and then release both together.

Watch for power light to blink in a sequence:

1 blink-then 2 blinks-------no error

2 blink-then 1 blink-------X-ray protection

2 blink-then 2 blink-------SHORT PROTECTION*******

2 blink-then 3 blink---------deflection circuit problem

2 blink-then 4 blink---------vertical circuit problem

******2, then 2 is most common---usually means one of the fuses that protectthe Convergence IC or IC's is blown---set will detect no voltage to convergenceIC and shut down.

SET WILL REPEAT BLINK ERROR CODE UP TO 5 TIMES ANDTHEN TO GET IT TO REPEAT MORE YOUHAVE TO UNPLUG SET AND TRY TO TURN ON AGAIN.

IF IT IS 2 AND THEN 2---USUALLY
CONVERGENCE CIRCUIT PROBLEM

let me know what you find--hope that you find 2 blinks, a pause and twoblinks--this is the most common and easiest to fix.

Press the front panel on switch and nothing happens. Is it a common fault and is the solution simple? I am not an expert repairer but have dabbled a little.

your fuse went in tv replace fuse its coomon problem with elec. going out or have it on with elec. storm.

I had a power outage a couple nights ago, which has caused my television to not turn on. It is a Toshiba model CZ27T31, which was off & plugged into a surge protector at the time the storm knocked the...

Please check if your surge protector is working properly now. There is possibility that the surge protector is blown off due to high voltage surge. Check if your surge protector has a reset switch which some of the surge protectors have. If the problem still persists then you have to call the technician to replace the safety fuse which is inside the TV. The cost will not be much. I will personally recommend that you change your TV as it has outlived its life being 10 yrs old.

TV WORKED FINE AND AFTER A THUNDER STORM, WONT POWER ON

Sets such as this still have power applied to stand-by circuits whenever it is plugged in. Try unplugging it for 5 min or so and then if normal operation does not return, ask around for a competent repair shop. With lightning or surges it can be either something "simple" to someone experienced (about $50 maybe) or well exceeding replacement cost. A power strip with surge protection is a good idea in the future, unplugging everything is better but not always practical.

No power on Samsung TV after storm

Hello Zkarim,

I'm very sorry to hear about your unfortunate new's. I had the same problem in my own home maybe a week ago.

Basically if your power flickered on and off at anytime during this storm then there was a power surge that probably fried your TV.
* First check the power where the tv was plugged in. Is it a power strip or a surge protector ? Surge protectors typically have an on/off switch and a separate reset push button.

If it is a power strip then the tv fried because there was nothing to stop it from happening (not even the fuse). If it was plugged into a surge protector then it could be quiet a few years old and not as reliable or the surge was to powerful for the limit on the surge protector.

The only thing you can do personally is send it in for repair if it's under warranty, if it is not then you can have it looked at by an authorized repair technician in your area. Troubleshooting should be fairly low, and you will at least be able to find out your options once they find the defected part.

how old is your tv?? ours was 2 1/2 yrs old it was a 40in lg hd ready lcd tv it just crackled and turned off one night same as yours it would turn on but with no picture or sound....we took it for repair and they said it was something inside that is basically impossible to fix...it would have cost more that the tv itself. BUT trading standards say a brand new tv should last upto 3yrs...you need to get a free qoute nd if they cant fix it contact trading standards and the tv MANUFACTURER not the shop where you got it....you NEED a reciept to do this for proof of when you purchased it...hope this helps :0)

I am sorry to say but it sounds like you had a major surge go through your tv. Go to this area: TV Repair man in your area
Find a repair place near you and have them check it out.
