How do I reattach the canister to the vacuum on a DC39

Check for clogs in the turbo head, wand and hose.

DC39's Trigger head floor tool is powered by a turbine, driven by your vacuum's suction. The belt that drives the brush is broken. Take off the bottom guard and you will see where the belt goes.

turbo brush on these models last about 1 year replace it

Apply some Oil or crease in it to lubricate it! it will surely work

The belt that turns the rotating brush is loose. Make sure it is on correctly or replace with a (new) tighter belt. This will require you to unscrew a few screws on the bottom & remove the cover. Then remove the roller.

I'm sure you've figured it out by now but there is a button located next to the handle of the canister and you simply click there to release it.
