Ice maker fills doesn't freeze dumps the water and refills. the heating element was on all the time.temperature 204 degrees.. Will replacing the ice maker alone solve the problem?

Frigidaire model ffss2614qp6a. Ice maker is model # fd1104s

Make sure the freezer is at least 17 degrees or colder (colder is better). If you have a square cover on the end of the ice maker see if you can pull it off and press on the gear face (don't turn just press). That may clean the electrical contact springs and get it working again. Basically if ya got water, 17 degrees or colder you will get ice. Other than that the ice maker motor module is likely bad (broken gear, etc.). Pretty common.

Hello,
My lady friend has the same problem with her ice maker. The problem is, the ice tray is broken on the end. I took her ice maker out and found out it was broken. Its going to be hard finding a replacement since they don't make parts anymore.

SOURCE: Frigidaire Ice Maker not working

I have a Frigidaire side by side refrigerator freezer MRS20WRGW0. I had the thermostat-defrost replaced yesterday. Now the ice maker isn't working, doesn't have water in the "tray" part that makes ice, but does still dispense water through the door. What could be causing this problem?

Ice makers can clog. The water valve can stick open or closed or even not work at all. The water fill nozzle can clog with ice or food. If the unit has been moved the water line could be kinked or the water filter may be clogged. Maybe the water valve for the ice maker water line is turned off. Is there one under the sink? Inside most ice makers there is a thermostat that tells the ice maker that the water is frozen and it's time to dump the ice cubes. That starts a geared motor running to dump out the cubes. And in some cases a mold heater is turned on to help break the ice cubes loose. A lot of ice makers have a cam attached to the motor that turns with the shaft. When the ice cubes are gone the cam starts a timer to refill the ice maker with fresh water to make some more ice cubes. Most "fill" cycles of ice makers are "timed fill". The fill cycle has to start and stop to get fresh water into the ice maker. There may be another thermostat that monitors the air temperature where the ice maker is mounted. If that thermostat thinks the air is not cold enough to freeze water nothing happens. If all the steps don't happen at the right time no ice cubes are made.

Try this fill the ice maker with tap water so we can decide if it is the ice maker or the water control valve. Maytag freezer wont produce ice

You have two sides to the water control valve. One side is for the water coming from fountain and the second side is to refill your ice maker after each cycle of dumping ice into the ice bin. The freezer should be a 5 degrees or below for the ice maker to function properly. If the ice maker is empty then fill with tap water up to top edge of the ice maker and allow to freeze. If after the water freezes and dumps the ice into the ice bin the ice maker does not refill I would recommend replacing part=> 67006009 Dual Water Control Valve
or here=> 67006009 Dual Water Control Valve
 If the ice maker has old ice inside and does not want to dump itself it will be considered defective and the ice maker core moduel will need be replaced=> W10190972 Ice Maker Assembly

No ice.
Pout about 2/3 cup of water into the ice maker . If it dumps but does not refill , replace the water inlet valve ( the piece the wall water line connects to behind the refrig ) . Also check the tube which fills the ice maker as it will freeze up , not letting water go into the ice maker . This is also caused by a bad water valve .
If the ice maker does not dump the water poured into it , replace the ice maker .
Also , check that the coils are clean under the front of the refrig , as this will cause slow ice production and can cause the ice maker not to dump due to too warm of temperature . Ice maker has to be 5 degrees to operate .

No water going into ice box of icemaker. Motor seems to be working ok. Checked hose not snagged.
Most times that will be the water control valve on the rear of refrigerator and most times they come as a pair or dual one side for water dispenser and other side for the ice maker. You can test to see if the ice maker is defective by turning switch on and fill with tap water. When it freezes and dumps but no water refills the ice maker then the valve for the ice maker side is defective and will need to be replaced as a pair. If you fill ice maker with water and it freezes and then does not dump then most likely the ice maker is defective.Thnks Sea Breeze

Pour about 2/3 cup of water into the ice maker . If it freezes and dumps , then check the fill tube going to the ice maker , to see if it is frozen up inside . If it is , replace the water valve behind the refrig , where the wall water line connects to on the refrig . If the ice maker dumps the cubes , but does not refill with water , then the water valve is bad . If the ice maker does not dump the cubes , then replace the ice maker .

My its not making ice at all what can i do?
Pour about 2/3 cup of water into the ice maker . If it freezes and dumps , but does not refill with water , replace the water valve . If it does not dump , and the cubes stay in the ice maker , replace the ice maker . First , make sure the coils are clean under the front of the refrig , because , the ice maker has to be 5 degrees to be able to dump . Dirty coils can raise the temp , to 6 degrees and even higher .

Ice maKer is not getting water but the water side works.
Your refrig water valve , has 2 coils on one valve . One is for the water dispensor , and one is for the ice maker . So even if you get water thru the dispensor , the other coil ( for the ice maker ) could be bad . The fill tube from inside the freezer to the ice maker , could be frozen solid , keeping the water from entering the ice maker . This frozen tube , would be caused be the water valve " seeping " , which means , it isn't closing completely , and drips freezing inside the tube . indicating a bad water valve . Pour about 2/3 cup of water into the ice maker . If it dumps , but doesn't refill with water , replace the water valve but also check this tube . If the ice maker does not dump the frozen cubes , replace the ice maker , but also check the coils under the refrig , for dust , lint , etc , needing to be cleaned off . The ice maker needs to be 5 degrees to operate , and dirty coils can keep the freezer at 6 degrees or above .

Ice maker is inop. There is water to the door dispenser but not to the ice maker.
It’s more likely that your 61005626 Dual Outlet water control valve has become defective on the side that turns the water on for the ice maker. Sometimes the ice maker is the reason for this problem. The ice maker has a temperature thermostat that sometimes goes bad and will not tell the water control valve to come on after dumping the ice and the end of its cycle. The part number for the temperature thermostat is 627985 you can test the ice maker to see if the thermostat is bad by filling it with tap water and allowing the water to freeze. If after freezing the ice maker cycles and dumps the ice but does not refill with water then the water control valve needs to be replaced.
