Why my camera wont turn on?

Make sure that the card is the correct card and is formatted in the camera.
You may have damage of some sort in the camera itself.

Unfortunately, the picture error message means that the image been modified such that the camera can't read it. It is possible that the camera thinks the picture was taken by another camera. Since the picture is still good when you check it with the computer, it hasn't been damaged. Archive the picture and make sure to back it up after it goes on the computer. (If the computer couldn't view it, then you'd need some sort of file recovery software and might not get the entire image back.)

The problem you are describing is a problem with battery connectivity in the camera. Following are the instructions to send your camera to Olympus for service.

Olympus will charge a flat rate repair fee for this product if beyond the one year factory warranty or the warranty is voided. The cost is $51 plus your local sales tax. This covers parts and labor, factory cleaning and diagnostic check, 6 month warranty and the cost of shipping the product back to you is all included in that price.

You can try to reset the camera back to factory settings to see if the flash will start working again. To reset: Have the camera in shooting mode - press the down arrow - camera will indicate reset or cancel - highlight reset and press ok - the camera will be back in factory settings - see if flash fires - if it does then fine - if you see a red flash charging icon blinking on the screen this is a repair issue and the camera needs to be sent to Olympus for service.

That sounds as if it may be a repair issue with the chip inside the camera that controls image processing. You may want to call Olympus Customer Service to discuss repair policy. Their telephone number is 800-622-6372 option 2 and then option 3.

That is how the camera is supposed to function. When the shutter button is depressed it automatically assumes you want the camera to be in shooting mode to take images.

power issue... you may want to try lithium AA or send camera to repair

check to see if the battery is loose. i had the same problem where my camera turns on and off, i went to radio shack and found out that the battery wasnt "pushed" in all the way. if you open the battery slot and the battery pops out then thats the problem. just push it in until it clicks.

I have this same Problem... urg It pissed me off!! I can't find any way to resolve it, and the company I bought the camera from is now closed!!!!!! SOMEONE help!?!?
