you'll need to get into the guts of the camera and see if the shutter release is jammed. pressing the button closes a switch that advances the print motor and a cam that stops the motor when one print goes through the rollers.

Possible you got a bad film cassette. In the original Polaroid camera packs they had batteries which actually powered the whole camera. The batteries may be dead or not have much charge in them. They are good for a couple years and as you indicate the expiration is up in another month... Good luck

How do i load the film

There's a sliding catch on the left side of the camera (as viewed from the front) at the forward edge. Slide it and the lower front panel drops down to reveal the loading slot. Insert the photo pack (you may need to remove an old empty photo pack first).

If the new photo pack is an original Polaroid one, then because they are all so old and far out of date then you may find that the battery is totally dead or has just enough power to eject the cover slide and perhaps one photo. If that is the case either convert your camera to accept an external 6v dc power supply before using the expensive photo pack or buy a freshly manufactured compatible pack from The Impossible Project.

I bought a new ink cartridge, but cannot find my manual. How do you change the cartridge???

Changing an HP Ink Cartridge
  • 1

Open the lid of the printer. Depending on the model, there will be two cartridges on the right, one for black and one for color.

  • 2

Find the cartridge that is running low on ink. The black cartridge will be in black, the color cartridge will have a patch of color (usually green) on it.

  • 3

Pull down on the black clamp that is holding the cartridge in place and slide out the used cartridge.

  • 4

Open the package of the new ink cartridge. Remove the protective tape and slide the new cartridge into the printer.

  • 5

Snap the black protective case back into place and close the lid.

How do you get the ink cartridge out of the printer

    1. Unplug your Kodak Photo Dock's power cord. Pull the black tab on the right side of the printer down to open the ink cartridge door.
    2. 2 Push up on the green cartridge release tab in the upper center of the ink cartridge to release the old cartridge. Pull the old ink cartridge carefully from the Photo Dock.
    3. 3 Rotate the new ink cartridge's ribbon wheel on the side of the cartridge clockwise with your finger to remove any slack in the film. Do not rotate the wheel too much---this will damage the cartridge.
    4. 4 Insert the new ink cartridge into the Photo Dock with ribbon film facing down until you hear the cartridge click in place. The ink cartridge will only go in one way.

Do not touch the ribbon with your fingers. Handle the cartridge by its edges.
    5. 5 Close the ink cartridge door and plug in your Kodak Photo Dock's power cord.
    jQuery('.article ol .image').each(function(i,e){ var $this = jQuery(this); $this.find('img').error(function(){ jQuery(this).remove(); $this.remove(); }); });

How long do polaroid cameras last - the old versions, eg 600

These cameras have the battery built in to the instant photo cartridge; every time a new cartridge is loaded the camera therefore gets a fresh battery as well.

Stored in cool, dry conditions the cameras will last a very long while. I've owned one since 1978 and last used it around 1983 but when I ran a film pack through it last year it worked perfectly.

The only thing which may cause a problem is if the grease on internal moving parts dries out, but there aren't many such parts, just a motor and very simple photo eject mechanism. Not like the myriad of tiny precision parts in a regular film camera which may jam under such circumstances.

In short, the most of the remaining Polaroid cameras should long outlast the availability of the instant photo packs which are no longer in production and which do not stay fresh forever.

Regarding the issue of "the light is not on when i open it" you'll need to state which exact model you're referring to and which light. The only one which I'm aware of was the flash ready light on the later models which had a built in flash forming part of the camera lens cover.

BMW X 3 Panoramic sun roof initialization.

title says X5, but description says X3. i'll explain for an X5, but X3 with the pano should be the same. and i'll explain function of the roof, not reprogramming.

button is located on the panel at the top near the front & center windshield. its the switch on the far left on this panel. its a switch that not only toggles, but also slides forward & back.

with your finger in front of the button, slide it back & release. this will make the cover slide back and store revealing the sun roof. you know have 2 options (tilt the sunroof up or open the roof completely).

to tilt it up, press up on the rear of the button and release. the rear of both roofs will pop up. to close, push up and release the front of the button or slide the switch forward.

to slide it open completely, repeat what you did to open the protective cover (slide the switch from front to back). the roof will open completely and stow out of the way. to close, slide the switch forward and release. pano roof will now close.

to close the cover, slide the switch forward again.

neat trick: if you want to tilt the sunroof open without opening the protective cover, press up on the rear of the button (when the cover is closed) and release. the cover will separate in the middle exposing about a 2-3 inch mesh, then tilts the sunroof open. to close, push the button forward again.

also, if you are above a certain speed (can't remember what it is off hand) with the sunroof open or tilted, it will close automatically, then perform the neat trick on its own to keep air coming in.

one last trick: if you want to open the windows and sunroof from outside, press & hold the unlock button (forward button on the key) and you will see the windows go down, then the roof will open to vent. releasing the button will stop the motion of the windows & roof.

hope this answered what you were asking.

    Polaroid one step 600

The battery is included in the film pack. If you open the film door you will see the battery contacts in the lower side of the compartment. These line up with the battery holes (looks like foil in the holes) in the film pack. If you have an old film pack and no power the battery in the old pack may be dead.
