Question about Maytag Refrigerators
it is almost certainly a defrost problem. when fault has occured, remove freezer bzck panel and see if there is ice build-up. if so this confirms a defrost problem - possibly that the element is open circuit

well if you trouble shoot the board at the back to see if you are getting voltage if you are then use a jumper on that conenctor and see if the auger motor runs or remove auger motor and check voltage there while pressing the lever for ice usually 100% of the time that board controls everyhting water and ice

Do you hear it trying to draw water into the ice tray? If so, there might be an internal problem you can't fix yourself. especially since the fridge is dispencing water. Is the arm inside the ice maker pushe down? This is what tells the ice maker to fill and make the ice.
Let me know if this helps.

in the back of the fridge you have a hose going to the bottom , take everything from inside of the fresh food compartment and blow in the hose and after voila problem solved

Our ice maker stopped working due to lack of a water supply. We noticed a discoloration of the wood kick panel at the floor of our kitchen cabinets next to the refridgerator. It turns out that over the years (10 or so) the plastic water supply line had become brittle and cracked, thus allowing a slow leak, which rotted the kick panel. The brittle portion of the plastic supply line was replaced, and now the ice maker works properly with no leaking.
