The DV 5000 has a three year warranty. I sent my back to the manufacturer, Schenker, Inc. and they actually replaced it. It was 2 years old. Lots of stuff wasn't working right and the tripod mount had fallen out. I included a copy of my receipt from Aldi and a note describing what was wrong. My kids had actually left it out in the rain so I was expecting them to figure this out somehow and reject the camera. But lo and behold, a week later I get a box in the mail with a brand new camera with new strap, new micro sdhc adapter, new battery. My kids are going to be so excited.
