SOURCE: Braun electric shaver will not charge.
Your batteries are no longer capable of being recharged and need to be replaced.
If you are handy and can dissemble and solder, you can do this yourself, otherwise, you can send it off to a repair service that will do this for you.
If you wish to do this yourself, you'll have to take the shaver apart. There are two (2) small plastic caps on the bottom of the shaver that can be removed with a small pick or flatbladed screwdriver. Once those are out, you can unscrew the two screws that hold the shaver together and gently pry off the side panels.
This will expose the internal circuit board and the rechargable batteries that need to be unsolded. You can then reinstall NEW rechargable batteries and solder them onto the PCB (printed circuit board). You can also purchase a complete internal PCB with the batteries and everything you need, you just swap out the electronics for the new one, although this costs about $39, while the batteries alone are much less.
Put the shell together and reinstall the retaining screws and caps and you're done.
Here's a link to get the replacement batteries for your shaver. They also do the repair service, if you don't want to do it yourself.

You can certainly go to shaveroutlet.com and pay $9.99 per cell, or go to a place like onlybatteries.com and pay $3.69 per cell with a higher mAh (2200 vs. 1650, which means a longer run time).
Keep in mind that if you're not skilled at soldering, you'll have to buy the batteries plus circuit board. This will end up costing you nearly $40. In that case, you're probably better off going with a new shaver (get a new old stock 8000 series shaver for around $50 on average, at "that auction site"). :-)

You will need to replace the battery pack. Depending on when your shaver was made, it may have one of two different battery types. You will ned to look inside to see which you need before ordering.
To open, remove the two round screw covers on the bottom of the shaver. Remove screws to remove bottom of shaver. The outer case will then slide off the bottom. Push the trimmer up to be abl to take the circuit board out. BE CAREFUL not to detach trimmer oryou will not likely get it back on yourself.
Your battery(s) will be one of the two types below found at shaveroutlet.com
