Here's a GREAT idea! BECAUSE this is such a nice but older Sony... "I" would use a Blu-Tooth SPEAKER with a AUX speaker input! LOTS of AUDIO and VERY inexpensive too!

OR I recently bought a BlueTooth TRANSMITTER/RECEIVER that has a 3.5mm" Jack right from it's body! Depending on the 'mode' it's in ~ it will TRANSMIT audio (like from your Sony) to a Bluetooth Speaker! (In it's second mode it acts like a BT RECEIVER.)

MMMmmm try earphones? How is the volume then? Plenty?

ALSO earphone jacks become dirty and the contacts that SWITCH THE SPEAKER OFF become poor conductors that starve the speaker for volume... anything more than this MAY constitute a MAJOR repair cost...

SO KEEP your SONY and consider the options!

I had exactly the same problem and came to a conclusion.

When you are playing in your music player at the same time it's playing use the volume keys on the top of the phone.

if charger voltage is ok then it could be phones charging controler is not working. if phonebook is only thing you need could recharge battery directly from your charger and then save your phone book. cut off charging plug-connector from your charger make two bare wires and then apply red wire to battery "+" and blck to "-". 5min of charging will be enough to copy your data

does the machine work at all? at best its faulty charger , I recall a laptop sometime ago I worked on had a fight with what looked like , 3 pints of milk and a cup of coffee showed same syptoms, could be faulty MOBO

It should not be very significant. The gap between two neighboring channels in AM/SW can, on some radios, be set to 9 kHz or 10 kHz depending on countries. For FM the separation is about 100 kHz or 0.1 MHz. Set the right frequency then use the Lock feature. It will prevent any shift/drift of frequency ( and any other changes) until you unlock.

How can i stop the squelch ive tryed turning the sqcuelch doesnt help

Plug the AC adapter into the back of the scanner and into a wall electrical outlet. Screw the antenna into the receptacle on the back of the scanner (extend the antenna to full length for best reception).

2 Set the squelch level to allow signals to be heard by turning the squelch knob counterclockwise. Rotate the volume knob clockwise until you hear static. Slowly turn the squelch knob clockwise until the static noise disappears.

3 Start programming frequencies into the scanner by pressing the "Manual" button.

4 Press the up arrow or down arrow key until the channel you wish to program is visible on the display.

5 Use the numbers on the keypad to enter the frequency for the local transmitter you wish to receive.

6 Press the "E" key to complete the process of entering the frequency.

7 Repeat steps 3 through 6 for each additional frequency you wish to monitor.

8 Press the "Scan" key to start the scanning process. The scanner stops on a channel when it detects a signal strong enough to hear over the squelch setting. Two seconds after the signal stops, the scanning process resumes.

Good Morning, New out of the box will not Tx or Rec. Powers up, no or very low squelch or volume. SWR meter has no movement

Sounds like the radio has never been setup or calibrated and this needs down by a radio shop before it will work. The channel freq. need to be set . I may be wrong but all Mine needed this done first .

Dell insprion laptop not charging the battery, showing IDLE when charger is connected to it, my charger is showing idle even in bios setting what is the problem

remove battery.
connect ac adapter.
make sure ac adapter led is on.
connect ac adapter to laptop.
check if ac adapter led still on after connection laptop.
turn on laptop then check bios if ac adapter is determined.
check bios as well if it is updated. if not then download the latest bios update from dell support site.
after updating bios charge the batt while laptop is not use. check if changes will happen on the number of charge. make sure you check the charge in bios not in windows.
if charge in bios made changes while on windows still says idle and not charging then reinstall the OS.
if all fails no changes in charge % batt then have the batt replaced.

Grundig g6 airband in khz and poor reception

I think having the display showing MHz for the air band would have been a better choice on Grundig's part, but it really doesn't matter that much. Its just a matter of moving the decimal point to the left three places.
As far as getting better reception on the air band, here are some tips:

1. Use an antenna.
2. Try other antennas.
3. Find a known active freq.
4. Find a freq. low of FM spurs.
5. Turn up the volume.

I own and use a G6, and get decent results with it on the airband.

Hi, you do not mention where you are located, but my first guess is that you are trying to listen to some freq's that are not compatable with your scanner. The squelch you use to quiet the white noise, so when someone keys their mic the squelch opens easy and allows you to hear them. The scanner you have is a standard FM analog style scanner. Nowdays there is also digital and encripted, trunktracking, and more. None of the different styles are compatable. On my scanners at home I run an external antenna to pull in a greater range. Our local area still runs the standard FM radios. If you respond back with some info, I might be able to narrow the problem down further.

Poor recieve

It sound like one of this radios is out of frequency, basically need service to determ what exactly is wrong. When one of the radios is out of freq, basically mean that the radio is not receiving or transmitting where suppose to.
