New Pancake, 6-gal., sand inside, what should I do to get it out of the tank? Could the sand be from the manufacturer using sand to cool the metal after manufacture?

All air compressors have a water drain device on the bottom of the tank.
Get a wrench and remove this part. Shake all the sand out and maybe shoot some air up n there if you have canned air or another compressor to use.
Wrap the part with new teflon tape and reinstall it.

Upon first impressions, I thought it was sand but I instead found that little pieces from the weld job were what was inside, about a tablespoon worth of them. Got them all out and the machine was fine after that. Didn't have to blow air up in it, thankfully. Thanks for your help.

SOURCE: How much sand does it take for a BaquaPure 22 gal. tank?

if the tank is 22" you use 100 lb. 24" 150 lb 26" 200 lb.

50/50 silica sand works best.

SOURCE: Portable oiless compressor wont pressurize

If there is pressure at the pump, either:

1) The tank check valve isn't opening (it's located where the line from the head enters the tank - usually extends into the tank, and the the pressure switch unloader line comes off of it as well)
2) The pressure switch unloader is bleeding off the air. This is a small valve on the side of the pressure switch. It should close when the compressor is running and open when the compressor shuts off to bleed off head pressure.

I have a 6 gal 150 psi pancake compressor, once in awhile their is a leak under the cover emptying the tank . I can restart and no leak until it happens again. any idears?

Any leak under the cover after compressor shuts off is caused by the in-tank check valve. Follow the discharge airline to where it attaches to the tank. This connection is the check valve. Debris from the pump cycle (bits of piston ring) will get trapped under the valve keeping it open. Good luck

Yes use pipe thread seal. The center is turned to open and close no need to remove plug. If is frozen replace.

My Porter Cable pancake outlet regulator doesn't seem to work.

If your quick coupler is not jammed up, (remove & test) and assuming you are pulling the regulator knob out to adjust the pressure and it is not stripped, you will need a new manifold kit.
There are about 6 versions of this unit so you will need model and type to get the correct part. There are no individual regulator parts available for this unit.

Check you model number. I don't think cw0100 is correct. Most 1HP 4 gal pancake compressors are oil-free.

I need a manual for a clarke bronco 6 gal compressor (ac20008). When I use the unit, I am cutting the circuit breaker off.

I would try a different outlet ( which should be on a different breaker ) -- sounds like your breaker is either bad or to low of a amp rating to handle the load of the compressor.

An air compressor such as the one that you borrowed is very useful for airing-up tires, connecting a nailer for wood working projects and spray painting with a cup gun. All that you need do is plug it in to a 110v outlet and it will fill with air to capacity. To access the air you will need to plug an air hose into a quick coupler and adjust the air pressure with the knob showing two direction arrow. Unless your friend has included an air assisted water blasting wand that would also connect to a water supply, I do not think that it would be useful for cleaning. I have used a compressor such as this with an air nozzle or air blasting the air conditioner condenser fins and the drain to the evaporator inside the house. It will also be really great for cleaning the mower or any outdoor tool that accumulates oily dust (air filters). With a small sand blasting attachment you could remove old paint from the patio furniture or any wood or metal surface needing a good blasting to make it look like new. Sand blasting would not be practical for house/ deck/ fence because it would take too long and use too much sand; then there would be the sand cleanup. Have fun with the compressor and clean-up projects.
