Oven light wont turn off - Ovens

the preheat light wont go off on my oven, and its not really hot. my oven light is on as well ,how do I turn off the preheat light

Based on the model number you have listed, there are multiple reasons for why your unit may not be turning up the temperature. One of the reasons is most likely the ignitor. Because it may be other multiple possibilities it is recommended that you contact a Service Specialist that can identify that the part that is malfunctioning.

What do you mean that it wont stay on? Does it turn off and on during cooking? Does it just go off and wont come back on? The oven thermostat regulates the heat in the oven and the oven element and the oven indicator light will turn off and on during cooking. If it stayed on constantly on full oven element power everything would burn.

Light and grill work. I assume that the oven indicator wont light when you turn the oven on. If so the timer is probably in automatic mode. Set the timer to manual mode and the oven should work. If the indicator light is coming on at the moment the oven element is probably faulty.

Bakers Pride used several different safety valves over the years. If your oven has a pilot valve that has a beige know that you hold in and turn to light the pilot, then after it lights you need to turn the beige know another half round to the "on" setting. If you push in a red button to light the pilot, it may not be getting enough heat on the thermocouple where the pilot flame should be heating it up. Be sure the main gas valve on the front of the oven is turned to the on position also. On some models the pilot will light with the main gas valve in the off position. If you look at the pilot flame while it is burning, make sure that it is hitting the pencil sized thermopile enough to make it glow red. If not bend it slightly to improve the heating.
