The battery on my cordless Dyson, #CD4-US-FAR0076A, only lasts about 75 seconds after charging. This has gone on for over a year--very frustrating! I bought the thing just three years ago. HELP!

SOURCE: Hoover Alyx 2000w, no power. Help!??

Its a possibility then that if the fuse has been replaced that the cable inside has either come apart or you have a broken switch. If its only a year then you should be covered automatically with Hoover's guarantee.

SOURCE: Hi, this is our third Dyson DC-16.. the Trigger

How are you charging your battery? Every battery has a memory. If you dont let it die the first come times then charge to full the battery will assume 40% is 100%.

Testimonial: "Thank you for your solution, but we've had it at least a year.. it stays on charge when not in use.cleaned the connections.working better, not 100%.."

I have a Dyson vacuum cleaner cordless and is not charging the red light is blinking but there's no green light we have had it for about a year and a use it every day usually twice a day

An issue with the battery may lead to the charger not detecting, nor attempting to charge the battery. I've solved this in the past by leaving things on charge for an extended period of time (sometimes days at a time, but with frequent checks that it's not getting too hot), but your mileage may vary.

Worst case scenario, you may need a new battery or a new charger. You can buy cheap replacement chargers from China for under 10 dollars, but a battery may set you back more. I suggest buying a genuine Dyson battery if you can; a charger isn't as important to remain genuine.

Definitely look into whether you're still covered by warranty, as I know Dyson offer some pretty hefty after sales support these days (some 5+ years). If you are, give them a call and see if they can help.

Have 1 year old hand held v6 motorhead. When pressing the trigger to start. The unit surges on and off repeatedly on a 1 second pulse. How do this get corrected

Hello, this is Ava with Think Crucial.

There are a number of reasons why your Dyson cleaner is pulsating off and on. First, it can be due to a battery of the cleaner. Make sure that the power cable is properly plug to the power and seated properly from the unit while charging. If you find that the battery isn't charging at all, you may need to replace the battery. Second is to check the MAX button of your cleaner. If the button lights up and flashes when your Dyson keeps on pulsating, press and hold the power button and depress the MAX button to turn off the function. You may need to do it for a few times to get the hang of it. Third is to check for any blockages or clogs in the attachments. Look down through the tube and check to see if there are clogs on the sweeper end or if the roller is tangled up in fibers. Clean the roller brush are if it it's necessary. You may need to empty the dust bin of your unit as debris can build up in hard to reach places. Lastly, cleaning the filters may fix the pulsating of your cleaner. Remove the filter and rinse it with cold water and air dry it for 12 hours. Don't use detergent when washing your filters. If the pulsating doesn't go with the given quick fix, I suggest to contact Dyson for further assistance on this.

Dyson v6 surges on and off

Hello, this is Ava with Think Crucial.

There are a number of things you need to do that may solve the issue you're having with your vacuum. First, make sure that your battery is charging and working. Second, check the MAX button. If the MAX button lights up and flashes when your Dyson cordless vacuum keeps pulsating on and off, hold the power button and depress the MAX button to turn off that function. You may have to try a few times to get the hang of it. And lastly, look for any blockages in attachments because the pulsating is caused by a lack of airflow as the motor is protecting itself by pulsating and then ultimately cutting out.

You can check this video tutorial which will teach you on how you may fix it:

Charge only lasts a very short time, unit only 10 days old, should I hope last longer?

I would contact Dyson. It sounds like you may have a defective battery. Considering Dyson products cost an arm & leg, I would want this fixed/replaced under warranty.

I just bought a Dyson DC35 cordless vacuum cleaner, and the charger does not light up, nor does it seem to be charging the vacuum cleaner

Hi Jeff, it's Jack at Dyson.

DC35 should charge completely within 3.5 hours, and when fully charged the light on the charger will go out. If the battery doesn't seem to be taking in any power, we'd appreciate the opportunity to take you through some quick diagnostic checks when you have your machine to hand. If a replacement part is needed, our experts will also be happy to confirm if this is covered under your machine's 2-year warranty.

You can reach the Dyson customer Helpline by calling 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), or 1-877-397-6622 (CA).

    Best wishes,
