Won't close My Sharp miniDv VL-Z1 camcorder has two problems: 1. If I put a tape in then it will not close automatically, if I "encourage" it to close then it pops right back open 2. When I turn it on to start shooting it will not record and the screen has a smal dew symbol on it What it wrong!? I have only had it for 2 years and do not use it often....but sure would like to. I did leave the battery in for a long time between uses too. Thanks so much- techless wonder!

    turn power on to play what was on the tape and the dew sign shows up.

    Always push mini casette back and not clousing.

On mine I turned off the cam and then plugged it in using cord provided.It worked so I was guessing that either the battery was down or that it just needed reset.I actually just got mine so I am not completely sure that this will work for everyone.

Cancorder not wrking-e007 error message
moisture in the cassette holder. Take out the cassette, leave the holder door open for a couple of hours in a dry, warm location, and it should work again.

Cassette holder does not close
Try inserting another tape first. If the trouble is still there,Defective mechanism, a stucked mechanism is present. camcorder are smart it can detects error and shuts down itself for safety. earlier models dominoes the defect if the user is not quick enough to react when something goes wrong with the camera. You need professional service to fix it.
