Set starts, horizontal and vertical deflection work, HT ok, crt heaters ok, but no sound or picture
I turned the G2 voltage up and noticed a white screen with flyback lines, frame ok. I detected two badly soldered double diode rectifiers in the secondary part of the power supply ! I checked all other joints, and everything was ok !! success
White horizontal line (no vertical deflection)
Check / replace R548, R549
Sound but no picture except for a couple of horizontal colour lines
Replaced the frame chip TDA8356, set now ok

I have a ln-s3238d that i got a couple years ago. Last month it started getting a line of pixels running across the top of the screen. over the last month that problem has gron to four lines on top and...

Hi andrew, its not a big problem.. Decent TV. but the pixels are DEAD. that means you have to recover them by fixing the LCD. this would cost you around £40-60 for a 32 inch TV. hope this helps!

I have a sony 50 in rear projection. 9 years old

Sounds like the CRT tubes are going out which is fairly common on Sony. Inside the back of the TV there are 6 knobs - 2 for each color...one is for focus - dont touch - the other for brightness...turn down the brightness just a hair untill the lines go away.

Toshiba 32D46 - White Lines at Top Of Display and TV Not Turning

as i've read you statement your tv need to check parts by parts, the one you mention upside trace vertical line, that part control on vertical ckt faulty parts nearly to faded filter capacitor you can directly replace all capacitor of vertical section. the one you adjust is that the playback transformer the upper portion is focus and the lower portion is screen voltage controlling screen voltage supply to crt g2 pin. if you turn this high that resulting hazing sound come from 2nd anode cup.

Insignia 32" TV Thin line across screen 1-2" from top

The original white line problem was caused by improper adjustment of the vertical size for which there is an internal adjustment. The current problem could come from two different sources, one an adjustment again, the other from a capacitor that is losing capacitance and gaining losses; = sick.
If you are fortunate enough to have a surviving TV repair in your area, none of these problems is expensive to find or correct.
Don't be surprised to find the only TV shop operating out of a messy garage since those of us doing this kind of service are dying off and the price one can charge for labor has shrunken to the point that a real business address is too expensive to have.

Insignia 32" TV Thin line across screen 1-2" from top

This is usually caused by bad capacitors in the vertical circuit. If you have an electronics background you should be able to find the defective ones with an ESR tester .

Mitsubishi WS65511 Rear Proj. TV still have resetting problem after DM caps & conv. IC replacement. Any other ideas or tests to do ? Any TV old timers that remember how to diagnose boards ? My Mistubishi WS 65511 Rear Projection TV runs fine for 15 minutes, Then kicks off & has the blinking green light while it resets. You can turn it on again & get another 15 minutes. Over & over, Then it may work fine for 6 hours or more. Seems to be worse when cold. And the problem has been more frequent with months. So I replaced the 7 Elec. Caps on the DM board. They weren't bulging & looked fine, But I put in 7 new ones. Did not improve at all. Same problem, Same time, 15 minutes. While in there I looked at everything. Nothing bulging, burn't, or visual. Something is going bad & causing a over load that triggers a shut down & reset. Any Help or Ideas PLEASE ! Any possible parts that I can try that might have done the same for you. I can solder in parts, But don't know what to try with it being so erratic. Also, does anyone have a service manual with wiring diagram. OR should I just try buying used boards off EBAY & try replacements. I really want to keep this monster in the living room. I've grown accustomed to her face. And the wife likes to pile nick-nacks on top. There should be lots of these replaced with flat screens by now. When it works, The picture is perfect, sometimes all day long.
