I have a cheap floureen DVR security system. I'm attempting to contact a electric rotating bracket which pans and tilts (it allows me to connect my cameras to it). My question is can I run this with the DVR or do I also need to get a joystick controller? The bracket is ran off pelcoD, and IV matched all the settings but am getting no response. The bracket works cuz when I plug it in it pans and tilts. Any help greatly appreciated. I'm new to this whole thing so keep answers simple for me please, thxs in advance. Bracket in pic

U have used Qsee, Swann and Lorex. I have a PTZ that has worked on several systems. There is a set-up for the actual PTZ camera which you appear to be aware of. The App or program you are using has a set up for a PTZ along with on screen controls for it in the program. If the DVR you are using is not PTZ ready there is your answer. Should have a 2 wire acceptors one negative one positive.

The movement you are seeing initially, are the PTZ powering up and self testing. What brand DVR are you using, and is is compatible with your PTZ camera?? LOL Swann Tech Service said my Lorex PTZ wouldn't work with my new hi-res system. Well it does...

I will try to look for your reply to continue to troubleshoot for you.
Cheers,
Chance

Testimonial: "I'm using a floureen DVR and it is rs-485 ready. Or ptz ready. I've matched all the setting to the bracket pelcod 2400 baudrate then 8 and 1 and none. But still no movement I've tried the onboard controls I'm wondering if I still need a external joystick controller"

SOURCE: 2002 buick lesabre won't jumpstart. Car ran fine

There are a couple of factors here:

  1. If you noticed the car getting harder to start when warm lately, it could be the starter is bad; a bad starter will work when cold but once it heats up, will require more and more power to turn over
  2. Bad battery; a dead battery won't turn the car over even with a jump; it would need a slow charge to work again; even sealed batteries have caps that can be pried open to do a cell check (battery cell checkers inexspensive at the auto parts store) if you have 1 dead cell, the battery needs replacement
  3. Corrosion; just because the posts and cables may be clean at the battery, doesn't mean there's no corrosion on the other ends of the cables
Hope this answers your question and gives you a good place to start. All the best.

How to install starter for 1996 Saturn SC2

prev.gif next.gif REMOVAL & INSTALLATION
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle safely.
  3. If equipped, remove the starter shield pin by pulling on it with pliers, then lift and release the shield from the solenoid.
  4. Spray the solenoid electrical connection nuts and studs with penetrating oil, and allow it to seep in for a minute to loosen the connections. While the oil is soaking in, tag the solenoid electrical connectors for identification during assembly. NOTE: It is very important that the solenoid electrical connection nuts and studs are sprayed with penetrating oil prior to removal to avoid damage to the solenoid end cap. A cracked cap will allow debris and moisture to enter and corrode the solenoid contacts.
  5. Carefully loosen the bolts and detach the starter electrical connectors. Position the wires to the side and out of the way.
  6. Remove the lower starter mounting bolt.
  7. Using an obstruction wrench, remove the upper starter mounting bolt. If the upper starter mounting bolt cannot be reached from below the vehicle, it may be accessible from above, through the intake manifold support bracket opening.
  8. If equipped, remove the bolt attaching the starter rear support bracket to the vehicle. Rotate the starter until the bracket misses the axle shaft support bracket.
  9. Carefully support the starter, pulling it rearward and toward the left side of the vehicle to remove it. To install:
  10. If equipped on the old starter, install the rear starter support bracket to the new starter. Tighten the bracket nuts to 7 ft. lbs. (9 Nm).
  11. Guide the starter into the bell housing and rotate the assembly until the lower bolt hole in the starter aligns.
  12. Verify that the bracket is properly aligned and loosely install the bracket bolt, then loosely install the starter mounting bolts. It may be necessary to raise or lower the vehicle for access to both the upper and lower bolts, but do not tighten any bolts until all of the mounting bolts have been started.
  13. Tighten both upper and lower starter assembly attachment bolts to 27 ft. lbs. (37 Nm).
  14. Reconnect the electrical wires and install the nuts. Be careful not to overtighten the nuts and crack the solenoid end cap. Route the wiring cable so it will not contact any rough surfaces. Tighten the starter positive terminal nut to 89 inch lbs. (10 Nm) and the solenoid terminal nut to 44 inch lbs. (5 Nm).
  15. If equipped, install the starter shield and push pin, being careful that the pin is positioned for possible future removal.
  16. Lower the vehicle.
  17. Connect the negative battery cable and verify operation. Fig. 1: Remove the starter motor dust shield retaining clip 89562p17.jpg

How do i remove the steering column cover to get at the ignition tumbler on a 1993 dodge dakota

CAUTION Disconnect and isolate the negative (ground) battery cable. This will disable the air bag system. Failure to disconnect the battery could result in accidental deployment and possible personal injury. Allow the system capacitor to discharge for two minutes then begin air bag system component removal. To install:
  1. Engage the electrical connectors to the ignition switch and make sure the switch locking tabs are fully seated.
  2. Before attaching the ignition switch to a tilt steering column, the transmission shifter must be in the PARK position. Also the park lock dowel pin and the column lock flag must be properly indexed before installing the switch as follows:
    1. Place the transmission shifter in the PARK position
    2. Place the ignition switch in the LOCK position. The switch is in the lock position when the column lock flag is parallel to the ignition switch terminals.
    3. Position the ignition switch park lock dowel pin so it will engage the steering column park lock slider linkage.
    4. Apply a light coating of grease to the column lock flag and the park lock dowel pin.
  3. Place the ignition switch against the lock housing opening on the steering column. Ensure that the ignition switch park lock dowel pin enters the slot in the park lock slider linkage in the steering column.
  4. Install the retaining bracket and ignition switch mounting screws, then tighten the screws to 22-30 inch lbs. (3-4 Nm).
  5. If the vehicle is equipped with a tilt steering column, install the tilt lever.
  6. With the key cylinder and the ignition switch in the LOCK position, insert the key cylinder into the ignition switch until it bottoms.
  7. Insert the ignition key into the lock cylinder. While pushing the key cylinder in toward the ignition switch, rotate the ignition key until the end of travel.
  8. Install the retaining screw into the bracket and lock cylinder. Tighten the screw to 22-30 inch lbs. (3-4 Nm).
  9. Install the steering column covers, then the tilt lever, if equipped.
  10. Connect the negative battery cable.
  11. Check for proper operation.
