Question about HP LaserJet 4p Printer

1 Answer

Gears? I replaced a dead power board. this solved my 51 error but when I turn on the printer now after rebuilding it, it sounds like the gear that runs against the toner is slipping (ratcheting) I have tried another toner cartridge out of another working hp 4p withe same results. I did not have this problem before rebuild. Thanks, Bob

Model 2820. How do I solve engine error?

Try Engine test:
turn on device open tray 1 and load paper (1 is the manual feeder)
when you open tray 1 there's an engine-test switch, found it and press it

Engine error are also cause too much resistance from toner, fusor or gears. Remove toner and check that it roll with your fingers on gears, and do same with fusor (could be very hot warning - should be hard move it but not too much) and with printer off and fusor removed check if you can move any gear manually (this can be harder but will help you determine if it's board error or resistance cause a gear problem).
Any previous error happened with the printer can help to diagnose (jams, power off while printing...)

5120 code error

Any of these error codes (51.20 51.21 51.22 51.23) points to a failure with one of the laser scanner assemblies on the HP Color LaserJet 4610 an 4650 series. To solve these error codes, replace the corresponding laser scanner. Sometimes when the laser scanner fails you will also hear loud noises (often higher-pitched noises like screeching sounds); the noises can be another sign that the laser scanner needs replacing.

When i want to print, i have an error 51 23 in the screen of the printer. When i put the power off, after ON, i h ave the same error 51 23 who return

51.23 Error-yellow scanner error

Turn off the power by using the power switch, wait at least 30 seconds, and then turn on the power and wait for the device to initialize.
If a surge protector is being used, remove it. Plug the device directly into the wall socket. Use the power switch to turn the device on.
Laser scanners are not replaceable.
Replace the engine.

Why is my samsung clp making a clicking noise?

Is the printer making a clicking sound when it is printing? Or is it just making a clicking sound but there are no light and the printer appears to be dead except making a clicking sound?

I know of a cause for either case.

Case 1. It is clicking when printing. Sometimes the toner cartridges are not seated properly in the imaging unit, and causes the gear on the cartridge to slip making a clicking sound as the gear is being turned. Try pulling out the cartridges and try turning the gear. It should turn smoothly without binding. If it binds, there is not much you can do about it except replace it when it goes empty. Reinsert the cartridge and check that it inserted completely into the imaging unit.

Case 2. Printer is dead, not printing except making a clicking sound. This is due to the power supply board failure. Usually the failure is due to a blown filter capacitor on the power supply board. The power supply is located on the right side of the printer. Remove the right side panel to get access to the board. The board can be either repaired or replaced. Hope this helps you.

How to fix unable 51 error message

The problem with the error 51 means that something is in the paper system, but not always is true. I Had the same error but no paper jam was in the printer, I had to desasemble the printer and I found that it was a problem with the end gear of the roller charge paper. Some times when the paper gets jam, the first reaction is to pull over the paper, it causes the end gear gets out from its position and the printer can`t load the paper. It causes the error 51 in the printer. To solve this problem you need to attach the gear to its position, to do this is necesary to desasemble the printer. I hope it can help to solve this problem.

Error code 51

That error is telling you that the cleaning assembly is not cycling properly. Usually I find paper scraps on the right stopping it or a broken drive gear that means the entire engine assembly neeeds to be replaced.
