SOURCE: My 13" DEwalt Planer feed is slipping and leaving
Hello Ken,
The black marks you are seeing are most likely from the rollers that feed the material threw the planner. The marks are left on the board when the board stops but the feed rollers are still spinning. This occurs when the feed table is stickey with items such as pitch. I would clean off the table completly and wax it ( or some type of lube).
Another cause could be the matrial that you are using, if the stock is real rough it will not slide as easy as a smooth board.
I hope this helps.
Shop Dog.
P.S. after waxing or lubing the table run a scrap piece first to wipe off any excess.
SOURCE: planer does not cut evenly across the table
having spent many houres trying to adjust the 4 levling screws on each side of the outfeed table, which do nothing,i desided to take the table apart when i folded open the outfeed table to reveal 4 nuts, as i removed one of the nuts i noticed that the bracket that holds the top on is ever so slightly elongated i loosened the other 3 nuts, and gently taped it level with a block of wood having checked it in the closed position i locked up all 4 nuts and readjusted the blades, now you can wind down the levling screws till they bottom out and lock them up this keeps it where you set it planer works like a dream now glad i stuck at it .the reason it was knocked out of whack in the first place was by people moveing it around by grabbing the table ends i have added a bracket to mine to prevent this happening again.thanks fixya for all your help.pat
