This problem occurs due to excessive calcium build up inside the dishwasher. Try cleaning you dishwasher using a dishwasher cleaner. Dishwasher Magic is a good choice. works great.

Usa a liquid detergent and rinse agent. Make sure your water is above 120 degrees. If you are a hard water area, use a detergent containing a water softener.

You need to use something with citric acid too try and clean out the calcium deposits inside dishwasher, you can get cleaner at the store or run a can of frozen orange juice thru it or a small bottle of apple cider vinegar. Do this with no dishes inside.
