There is a FULL MANUAL here with a CHAPTER called "FIXING PROBLEMS" but NOTHING in the dang manual gives SPECIFIC FAULT CODES or ERROR CODES ~ and darn.
A-17-209 is a cutter error meaning the cutter is not at home position when master material is in place. The cutter can be manually slide towards front of machine or another way is to rerolled master paper back on to its roll and close the clamp. This will cause the cutter, if operational, to re-home itself correctly. There are test codes to operate cutter to check it (480).
It may be a problem with the 'cut' buttons.?
Check to see if any of them are stuck/jammed on.?
They function as follows,
You have a card called HK in the card rack with a row of LEDs in front.
Counting from top, LED 6 and 7 corresponds to the normally closed contacts of both cut buttons.
Similarly, LED 8 and 9 corresponds to normally open contacts.
As soon as you turn on the machine, the LED 6 and 7 should be on and 8 and 9 should be off.
And when you press either button one LED should go off and other should come on.
That's how you can check if they're working properly.!
Open the side the master is loaded. Check that the cutter is in the home possition and that there is no used master stuck in the machine. Check the motor by entering sp mode
Function clear "107" press and hold C/clear
"131" #
"23" Start key
will return cutter to home position.
Press funtion clear to exit.
If the motor is not running you will have to replace it.
