Most Audio devices will allow you to adjust how the music is played. an EQ is just something that can increase or decrease audio Frequencies. there are usually preset EQ levels that will make Jazz, Classical, Pop music sound better. this is done by increasing the High notes or increasing the low notes to give you more of a bass sound. User EQ settings allow you to manage the frequencies more to your liking. If you want to here the high notes better or adjust the middle to hear the vocals better then you can increase those levels. Or if you love your bass sounds then you would increase the lower frequencies to give your music more boom.

I want to plug a microphone in channel one, send it to a EQ and delay for processing and return it back to channel one. I appreciate any assistance

Look in your user manual for how you "INSERT" an EQ at an input. The 1/4 inch TRS jacks on the back, lower row labeled "Insert" is where you use a TRS cable to aan EQ that has TRS INSERT jack. If your EQ doesn't have this, then you will need to find or make a "splitter" cable. The tip of the cable is the send to the EQ and the sleeve is the return signal after EQ.

Set your equalizer to you a V shape or U shape pattern, bass effect can only attain by adding a powered subwoofer, (amplifier and subwoofer). subwoofer without an amplifier doesn't sound good, your system doesn't have enough power to drive your subwoofer.

I am keyboard player and i want hook up an equalizer to the system where do i hook it up to

If you're only using the keyboard, connect the keyboard output to the EQ input, and EQ output to your amp.

If you have multiple instruments and a mixer, run mixer output to EQ input, EQ output to amp.

More info, let me know.

Need help connecting my eq to my system.

You will want to connect all of your devices to the pre-amp or receiver, then connect the outputs of your pre-amp/receiver to the inputs of the EQ. Then connect the outputs of the EQ to the inputs on the amplifier or receiver. If you give me some model numbers, I would be able to tell you exactly which cables go where.

Dear driver800,
Don't you just love it when when someone who knows less than you do tries to answer your question? Why is it people who know little waste everyone's time with suggestions like "read the book"
On the back of your Marantz MR-235 you will find the RCA phono jacks marked Tape 1 Monitor Output these connect to the jacks labeled input on your EQ 140. The corresponding jacks labeled Tape 1 Monitor Input connect to the jacks labeled output on the EQ 140.
