SOURCE: My HTC smartphone wont turn on or charge and when
Have you tried leaving it to charge (with the red light on) for a few hours. The red light usually means a completely drained battery that needs a few minutes/hours to recharge.
Also, try cleaning the battery connectors with a rough toothbrush...

Release the jog dial. The OPR lamp lights red.
The status lamp turns off. The OPR lamp lights alternately green and red each time you rotate the jog dial.
The OPR lamp blinks green quickly and formatting is executed. When the
OPR lamp turns off, formatting is complete. If you press the jog dial
while the OPR lamp lights red, or if 30 seconds have passed, formatting
will be canceled.

I am unsure of exactly what you were saying. I will assume that you mean that your BB9000 is never turning on and that the red light is blinking. This is a common occurrence when the firmware becomes corrupted. Ideally you will have been backing up your data for situations like this using the BB desktop manager. If you have been then you know how to restore the information then. The real problem is the firmware.
A blank screen with a blinking red light is a bit of a bear to deal with. You have to have the BB Desktop manager installed on a computer. You also need to have the most recent firmware for that particular device loaded into the desktop manager. Both of these programs will be available through your cellular provider. When both are installed you need to plug the device in and run the application loader. Tell it to overwrite existing data if it asks and just let it go to town. This process may take up to 45 minutes to do and the phone will look like it is hanging up most of the time but have faith. If the process errors out or does not work there is another trick. Follow the steps above but do it with the battery out. As soon as the desktop manager says that it is 'loading application data' then put the battery back in and then wait. Sometimes the firmware will refuse the connection to the computer if it is in a damaged state and removing the battery keeps it from refusing the connection. The battery has to be put back in before the application loader finishes so the firmware can initialize.
