How long have you had this problem, are you sure the usb is an input and not a "usb charge". In some cases the "usb is a charge port, and the mini jack is the input for sound. Also how new is th Ipod?

HI. this will occur when the optical lens assembly has failed. The lens is probably burned out or, the spin motor has failed.

replacing the optical lens assembly will restore proper reading functions.

I don't see any references to a KD-6320 receive. Please check the model number. JVC has a KD-G320 AM/FM CD receiver. Jvc kw-hdr720 usb not reading.

The default format for flash drives should work (FAT 32/FAT 16/FAT 8). If you reformatted the drive to NTFS to store large files, it won't work. Apple gadgets require you to load them using the IPod setup. See the manual: http://a248.e.akamai.net/pix.crutchfield.com/Manuals/105/105KWHD720.PDF .

I hope this helps. Please add a comment with the size of the flash drive. Some devices do have a max supported size. Similarly, drives with several partitions will not work with the KW-HDR720.
