Murray Lawn Tractor Model 42576x92A will not start...no spark?

My Murray Lawn Tractor will not start. I suspect no spark. The ignition switch does not work. When I try to start with it nothing. I can jump accross the seliniod switch and the start will spin. Is it the safety switches? I would like to know how to REMOVE the clutch safety switch, rewire around it to make it run. Currently unemployed so I need a cheap work around. Thanks in advance for the help. The switch has two yellow wires and two orange wires on it.

Murray lawn tractor won't turn over unless you attach jumper cable to battery to starter with key in on position and clutch depressed. starts right up

Typical riding mowers require BRAKE ON and PTO OFF to engage starter when ignition switch is in the start position.

Lawn trc murray 17.5 hp 42in cut

my specialty, but, you didnt post what the problem is,so,here goes,if it wont start,it is probably a bad safety switch, take the small black wire off of the coil,if it starts, then its a safety switch,if it doesnt then it is the coil,if it only clicks with a charged battery,it is the solenoid, turn on your key and short between the two big bolts on it if it starts it is bad,if you need a belt,i will need the numbers under the seat, otherwise i will try to find them for you,i will post a user manual for you here, Murray 425607x52A 42 34 Lawn Tractor Parts

My murray lawn tractor stops running after 10-20 minutes. I replaced the fuel filter and cap, spark plug, oil, gas. I do not have a spark after it cuts off. Any ideas??

First I would bypass all the safety interlocks and see if it still shuts down, if so I would test the ignition switch and if that does not find the problem, the kill wire may be shorting to the block under one of the wire clamps. If all that fails, try replacing the coil.

The mower deck drive belt slipped off the idler pulley on my 42'' Murray riding mower deck because the idler pulley was worn out. I need to know how to loop the belt back around the pulleys after I replace...

Get the model number off the tractor, go to:

www.murray.com

enter the model number and you will find a manual with pictures of how to route the belts along with a lot of other good information

I have a 1993 murray lawn tractor 12.5hp Ignition Switch????

Take an ohm's and amp. meter and go to the ohm's setting and see which terminals are off and on. If you want to kill the engine put it on the off side. If you want to run anything put it on the start and run side of the switch. Hope this clears things up a bit. donnyb60.
