Just bought a house with a Gibraltar SCR stove in it. I want to use this thing, but have never owned a stove and don't know how. What fuel? How to set the fuel in the stove, etc. Can you help?

Asked former owner for a manual for it and he didn't have it. Said he used wood, and my wife thought he said he also used pellets. On the back it says coal only.

Gibraltar makes coal, pellet and wood stoves. Stoves that burn wood pellets have a hopper and feeder auger that feeds pellets into the burning chamber. They also require electricity to work. From what I read online you should be able to burn wood in the stove but I believe the coal stoves have a smaller burning chamber.

SOURCE: purchased a used earth stove mp240 pellet stove

The auger motor is fed through a high temp. limit thermostat. It has a manual reset on the back of it that you have to press on firmly to reset it. Open the side panel on the stove and find the wiring. You will see the thermostat on the back side of the combustion chamber. Look very closely and reset it.
good luck!

We have a Whitfield Quest Pellet Stove and a Reverso Woodstove in our basement and we have never had the downdraft problem with the pellet stove. From time to time it happens in the woodstove. A basement installation would be fine and makes sense.

Testimonial: "Thanks. I installed it upstairs for now but will move it to the basement this fall for next winter. When I do that will I need a fresh air pipe?"

Can I run wood pellets in my snow flame 1100 I just bought this stove used and I need to know if I can run wood pellets in it or Corn

From their website
https://snowflamepelletstoves.com/
Our multi-fuel pellet stoves can burn dried wheat, corn or wood pellets. Multi-fuel stoves, unlike just wood pellet stoves, are the first heating option that allows you to burn all three environmentally friendly fuels in the same stove. The Environmental Protection Agency rates multi-fuel stoves as the most energy efficient stoves available.

The recommended stove for ultra-light backpacking, if you don't want to carry much weight, is the alternative-fuel stove.

Find spare and repair manual for intrepid wood stove

Alex, I don't know how old your Vermont Castings Intrepid wood stove is, but the only available Owner's Manual is for their fairly new model Intrepid II wood stove.

A little quick history. Vermont Castings was an independent company 10 years ago, that was bought up by Majestic (FMC) Fireplace Company of Canada. About 5 years ago, Majestic went belly up and the VC line was purchased by Monesson Hearth Products. There have been some improvements to their wood stoves in the past couple of years, so as to meet the new EPA Requirements. So, this manual may show some things your stove doesn't have.

Hope this helps you. Please let me know. Thanks.

I bought a used direct vent vermont castings radiance model 2600 set up for natgas. I have been trying to get it converted to propane, with no luck. All dealers are telling me that the conversion kit is no...

if you know a lot about it you could convert it your self....you need to get rid of the Propane regulator....you need a Natural Gas Valve and you need to change the orifices....should be stamped on the rating plate the size of orifice for natural gas....I wouldn't recommend you do it yourself unless you have a license....or as I said know a lot about it...I wouldn't have a problem doing it in my own house...however you run into Insurance implications should anything happen if it's not an approved kit from the mfg.

Do not buy a Toyo in Fairbanks.

You are right. The "service" in Fairbanks for Toyos is almost non-existant. My company has been tuning and servicing Toyos for over 12 years here in Fairbanks. We have tried to get a dealership but the main company, Toyo USA and the regional rep., REE refuse to allow us to be dealers. We have tried several times over the years. We buy parts in bulk from outside sources and pass the savings onto the customer.
A letter to Toyotomi or Toyo USA will not work. They don't care.
There is one person with a van that will "Tune" a toyo in your home. Don't use them. It is not possible to properly service a Toyo in your home. There is fiberglass and creosote dust that will get everywhere weather they use a vacuum or not. That's assuming they even clean your burner pot. Our company was started because of this poor service in this town. We operate by word of mouth only and have about 2 dozen regular customers.

Power up password

Your have to reinstall the operating system or Alternate choice below

If you log into a limited account on your target machine and open up a dos prompt
then enter this set of commands Exactly:
cd\ *drops to root
cd\windows\system32 *directs to the system32 dir
mkdir temphack *creates the folder temphack
copy logon.scr temphack\logon.scr *backsup logon.scr
copy cmd.exe temphack\cmd.exe *backsup cmd.exe
del logon.scr *deletes original logon.scr
rename cmd.exe logon.scr *renames cmd.exe to logon.scr
exit *quits dos
Now what you have just done is told the computer to backup the command program
and the screen saver file, then edits the settings so when the machine boots the
screen saver you will get an unprotected dos prompt with out logging into XP.
Once this happens if you enter this command minus the quotes
"net user <admin account name here> password"
If the Administrator Account is called Frank and you want the password blah enter this
"net user Frank blah"
and this changes the password on franks machine to blah and your in.
