http://homemarketdeals.com/how-to-clean-an-electric-fireplace-insert.htmlWARNING: ALWAYS DISCONNECT FROM THE POWER SUPPLY BEFORE CLEANING THE HEATER.

For general cleaning on the unit, simply use a soft clean duster. Never use abrasive cleaners. The glass-viewing screen should be cleaned carefully with a soft cloth. DO NOT use proprietary glass cleaners.
To remove any accumulation of dust or fluff on the fireplace logs, the soft brush attachment of a vacuum cleaner should occasionally be used to clean the outlet grill of the fireplace. To access the electric fireplace logs follow these easy steps:
1. Remove the 4 screws on the front panel.
2. Carefully remove the front glass panel.
3. Unscrew the rosebud log screw.
4. Wipe and clean the log set with a damp cloth or a soft clean duster.
5. Replace the rosebud screw, glass panel and screws and enjoy!

Great World GW2078 Electric Fireplace. Heater comes on for about 5 mins then turns off and smells like something is burning. Have taken apart and checked out the top heater and it seems to turn ok.

Question edited for clarity.

That sounds like a fan issue. It isn't blowing hard enough so it cuts out on overheat and smells of burning dust.

Asus u52 shut down unexpectedly

When the CPU overheats then it will shut down (i.e. thermaloverload) and won't boot up again until it has cooled down. If this is theproblem is not fixed then the CPU will eventually fail.
A faulty fan causes the problem or the fan and heat sink assembly are cloggedwith dust.
Check the CPU fan to see if it spins freely, if not replace the fan.
If the fan and heat sink is clogged with dust the remove the dust and make surethe vents are clear and dust free. Use a small brush and can of compressed airto do this.

The pilot light will not stay on for more than 5min. If I light the fire when its on,it just goes out. The fire is a Fusion 2/7

I assume this is a gas log? If so, you have dust in your pilot assembly. Turn everything off and let it cool. Note the opening where the pilot flames burns. Use the wand from your vacuum cleaner and place it over the opening for the pilot flame. Gently tap the side of the pilot assembly while holdign the vacuum above the opening. This will lift the minute dust particles out and allow the flame to burn nice and blue again. These logs have Oxygen Depletion Valves on them. The pilots are very sensitive to dust.
