Motor runs on gate opener, but gate doesn't open or close. What do I do to fix?

on the shaft that controls the arm or gear for the gate movement there will be 2 cams
open the gate and then loosen of one cam and adjust it off the micro switch until the gate is fully open
lightly tension the screw and then close the gate
repeat the adjusting on the second cam until the gate is fully closed
tension up the screw and then using the remote open the gate when it is fully open leave it or in it is not make small adjustment to get it open
press the remote to close the gate and again adjust to properly close the gate

Power Liftgate
The power liftgate feature will allow the customer to automatically OPEN or CLOSE the liftgate by activating the interior open/close switch, the remote keyless entry transmitter or by manually initiating liftgate movement. The power liftgate uses a power cinch system to latch the liftgate.

Power Liftgate Initialization

NOTE:If the power liftgate system is turned OFF in the message center, the system cannot be activated with any switches or with the liftgate handle. The system will need to be turned ON for any power operation to occur.

NOTE:The power liftgate may not operate under the following conditions:

• a low voltage or dead battery.
• a disconnected battery
• a power liftgate that has been left open for more than six hours.
• a power liftgate that has been manually closed and left ajar.

If any of these conditions has occurred, the power liftgate must be reset.

1. Manually close and fully latch the power liftgate.

1. NOTE:If the power liftgate does not open during this step, refer to the symptom chart to diagnose the power liftgate for no operation.
   Power open the power liftgate by using the keyfob or overhead console switch.

There are several possible causes, but the first to check is the limit switches. When the gate opens, it is supposed to trip a limit switch that tells the mechanism that the gate is fully open. If the switch is not tripped, it will not respond properly to a command to close. It may think the gate is running into an obstruction and then just shuts down.

Do you have power lift gate ?
The power liftgate may not operate under the following conditions:

• a low voltage or dead battery.
• a disconnected battery.
• a power liftgate that has been left open for more than six hours.
• a power liftgate that has been manually closed and left ajar.

If any of these conditions has occurred, the power liftgate must be reset before performing any pinpoint tests. For additional information, refer to

Check if it has stops anywhere in the system, usually there are micro switches that are activated by arms, etc that tell it how far to open and close. You may need to adjust them.

if you push the open button and it closes indicates that you have the wrong polarity connected to the motor
gate motors are DC so where the positive and negative wires are connected are critical for rotation direction of the motor

I have a brand new Ramset 300 electric gate opener. My problem is in the early morning when the loop opens the gate it will not close unless deactivated manually. It does not happen later in the day with my GMC truck but happens early in the am with my husbands Toyota Prius. Please help. What can be the problem?

That way the T-Rex cannot reach you. You can also avoid the T-Rex and complete the next part quickly. Just make sure you stay away from it because you lose health even if its tail touches you. However, killing the T-Rex makes you have a clear area and complete the next part at your ease. Alternative method - As soon as you collect the Key, immediately jump out of the ***** and dash to the newly opened gate. The T-Rex will follow you, but it will not be able to reach you in there. Shoot it from this safe spot until it is dead. You may need to pop out a few times to lure it near you, because it may turn its back to you and go away, but when you see it approaching you again, immediately run back to your hiding place and shoot it. From these two safe spots (the middle of the pool or the gate) you can kill the T-Rex with your Pistols, but be prepared that the process will take some time.
Jump out of the nest and use the left shallow part of the pool to reach the other side of the cavern, close where the dead raptor and the slope are. Go through the gate you opened by collecting the Key and use the switch to open the gate beyond the pool. Exit and run towards the pool. The gate is at the far left. If you have not killed the T-Rex, make sure you use the left shallow part of the pool. Enter the alcove and use the switch to open the second gate back where you used the first switch. This gate gets you back to the upper clearing. (The two lit torches high on the walls of the cave will help you locate where exactly the two gates are.)

Most likely your chain is not going to be your problem. When you pull the cover off of your SL 3000 there will be a little rectangle box on top. There is either one or 2 screws holding the lid down...loosen the screws and take the lid off. Inside there will be a long screw drive with 2 plastic nuts with teeth.At either end of the screw drive you will find a switch that one of the nuts should be resting on. (these are your limit switches that tell the motor when to stop) Run the gate open and closed...when you run it closed see if it is hitting one of the limit switches when it stops. (turn off the power) If so, hold back the plate keeping the nut in place and move the nut further away from the limit switch.(don't move it too far so that you don't slam the gate too hard into the catch post and hurt the post/gate/motor) Turn the power back on and run it again.
