Hi Brendan, Hit menu, then Navi set up, then Cailbration, then clock set. There you can change the hour only, the system will only set the minutes automaticly.
Also - make sure you're NavData is set to the region you are in. I had to do that when I first got mine. You'll see a map of the USA and you can change the predetermined regions. I do not recall off the top of my head how to get to that screen. I am NOT sure if that has ANYTHING to do with the clock & time zones.

Thanks for that David, Unfortunately I live in New Zealand and mine is a Japanese import so everything is in Japanese. If I cld see some photos of the buttons I have to press would make it easier, even better I wish I cld change the language of it as I know it has english characters. Cheers anyway

From the Owners Manual for the CDE-9872:

FixYa won't allow images larger than 150k, so that's why this is a little blurry.
I hope this helps! Please post rating, if it does.

Hello, i just recently bought a mazda axela 2011 from japan i would like to change the audio system from japanese to English. road explorer 8.0 i like the system and does not wish to change it.

If you can access the settings on the screen menu (gear icon), then keep scrolling to the right and then see a 'system' option on the screen there will be a language option there (tap the navigation arrow on the top right of the screen 7 times). View the languages (tap the second one down the list) and select the one appropriate for your region. Be aware that you may not be able to receive FM broadcasts outside of the Japanese bandwidth.

*this works on later Mazda Axela/3 models. Unsure if it will work on the MY11 model. Once you have changed the language you can proceed to go through the menus to alter other settings like connectivity, display in miles/kilometres etc)
