Hello David Howington,
The previous ANSWERS are both correct...
(without a model number... we cannot even determine
WHAT COUNTRY... you are originating from...!!!).
MEANINGFUL assistance (specific) cannot be given
without a real model number...
HOWEVER...
The FROST I the back means you are suffering
DEFROST FAILURE...
There are only 3 basic elements:
- Defrost thermostat (prevents overheating)
- Defrost Heat element (raises temperature (mildly))
- Defrost TIMER or PC board (starts DF cycles)
Very simple & easy to fix...
With a correct model number... I could even provide
GREAT online VIDEO instructional directions...

The model number you entered is not correct. So I'm not sure how far back it goes. But they have a defrost timer which triggers a heating element to come on and melt the ice away. It can be tricky to diagnose do I would call in a technician.
Switch off, empty freezer, allow to defrost.

it sound like is not defrosting if is upright freezer. open the back wall jerry if that evaporator is full of ice then it has cut off all the air flow and in return that is why is not freezingif you know how to use the voltage meter you might need to check continuity on the heater if it check ok then repl the bimetal part# 4387499 and timer 482493 when repl time follow the wiring schamatics realy carful look for the right clor harness in the instructions and then just let it defrost or use the hair dryer

Check the ice maker. sometimes they get cracked a will leak water into the freezer compartment. Also check the ice maker fill tube for leaks or someone could have spilled something. Although this is tipical of a clogged drain. What happens is when the fridge go into derfost, it will melt all the frost that is on the evaporator, turning it into water. The water drains down to a trough under the evaporator and down a drain hole in the trough ( this trough is behind the evaporator cover ) Removing the melted frost from the freezer. If that drain is clogged, the water cannot leave the freezer. Then when the fridge starts back up ,it will freez the water that was not drained. After repeated defrosting the water will fill this trough and run off into the bottom of the freezer to be frozzen when the fridge starts to cool again.

Defrost system failure.
Defrost timer, heater, therma disk, any one could be bad.
You could manually defrost and this would get the Ref back to working for a couple of days before it iced up again. Remember there is a lot of ice build up on the cooling coils in the freezer that you can't see so, a little extra time with a hair dryer is needed to do a complete manual defrost.
